Funeral wake yesterday and I had to see my mate off in style so giving myself a pass on this one but just to detail.. far too many beers to remember, party sausage rolls, pasties and too many sandwiches though I didn't eat too much else for the day.. it could have been way worse, I had munchies later on with all the beer but managed to curtail further blowouts..

New starts mean new beginnings.
We can't do a thing about yesterdays but decide that today will make the difference for all our tomorrows.

Bit depressed with my progress the past week or so.. Had a minor family drama last night and stopped in to see sister and nephew, ended up having 3 beers and was pIssing down with rain so my hours walk was out.. First time I missed my exercise except for the 2 days in Adelaide since I started but thought WTF, changes like this have broken my 'luck' before, I'm sure I'll see some movement still but sill a ways to go before I even feel like I'm getting there sub 100 it's been a tough time.. Anyway that's the confession of sorts..

The numbers can get you by the throat and mess with your head.
You have to focus on the big picture and not get caught up in the short term.

Life is still going to happen whether you are fat or skinny.
Part of the journey is learning to deal with life's hassles by not turning to bad old habits but good ones.
A real time of growth in my journey was having an argument with my wife.
In the old days I would have grabbed the car keys, made a grand statement of self righteousness and drove to a takeaway or deli and loaded up.
This time it was different...I put on my running gear, made the usual grand statement of self righteousness and ran into the night!
Ended up running twice my usual distance and mellowed right out when I returned (and apologised... ).

Kim
ps I keep saying this but nobody believes me...it is real funny running/walking in the rain - try it! :D

I've done a bit too f walking in the rain myself, can't say I hate it apart from getting soaked but at least it's cool in summer

I hear you re the journey, I'm quite happy with my progress despite the stagnation, I'm now into week 6 nearly and past the point of no return, I'm committed to this being a year long slog so not worried if it's not quite happening as fast as I'd prefer..

Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves regarding our progress.
Guess it is balanced out by us being too ready to ease off on our efforts.

So long as no significant ground is lost and the effort continues then we will always end up winning. :D

Moment of weakness yesterday, I nearly succumbed to some chocolate bullets I found in the fridge, was only about 5 left and they were there for the taking, probably would if I hadn't been caught just about to indulge.. Felt good giving them back though and they are gone now so no more temptation..

2 glasses of wine and a couple of handfuls of potato chips on Saturday night, English breakfast on Sunday morning (healthiest portion I could muster ;) , also missed a couple of exercise sessions through weather and working late..

There has been liquorish chocolate, M&Ms, lack of regular exercise, I'm basically in holiday mode but having said that (inexplicably) I put in a low this morning..
