I am cranky with me...

Postby Lolly » Fri Jan 05, 2007 5:17 am

Yesterday I didn't prepare for work as I usually do. I forgot to take lunch with me and ended up having a bowl of soup (not too bad - only 100cals) and a small piece of fish that was battered that I took the batter off. So, by the time I finished work I had only eated about 400 cals.

So, when I left work I was STARVING and Thursday is generally takeaway night for the kids in our house - I had nothing prepared at home and ended up eating MACCAS for dinner!!!

I had 7 days straight without a major blowout on my calorie counting, have been drinking water like there is no tomorrow and then yesterday I stuffed up bigtime.

I am angry at ME, for being weak at the drivethrough, I could have had a salad but NO I went for what I used to have and after I ate it all, I had a belly ache all night :(
Every day I am getting thinner and thinner.....

Okies I just went and added it all to calorie king and I only blew out by 600 Cals

I haven't factored in the extra I am allowed to eat for exercising so does that make me even for the week?

Hi Lolly, I know how disappointing a major blowout can be mate....but as long as you learn something from it, then that is good. Yes you could have had a salad, but making the wrong choice after 7 days of eating well is not that bad!! We all have days where our planning goes out the window and we find our selves facing the battlefield of food choices!! Pick yourself up and wipe those burger crumbs off you mouth and start afresh today! :D

A word of advice about Macca's salads....don't bother darl!! I don't know if you like subway, but they do a lot of 6" subs that are really good and they also do wraps and really nice big salad tubs (that are well worth the money!) again it is still about choice there too as they have some high fat stuff there, so stick to the 9g fat or less stuff, but it is much more filling than Macca's!! Maybe if you went there first and got your order, so that you are not tempted at the drive-through... just a thought.

Ally that is a great tip about subway - we have one here and I looooove it.

I didn't have a very good day emotionally yesterday either so that did not help at that damn drive through either and I was in a hurry.

I think next week the kids can have Subway for their takeaway night so I can join them.

Oh, and it has finally stopped raining here so I can go for a walk again today and get some serious exercise in on the weekend :D

If you don't mind me asking Lolly, how old are your kiddos?? Mine are 11, 9 and 2 x 7 (they are eight in 2 weeks 8) ) Mine love subway!! They think it is nifty as we order them the kids pak!

It is very hard when we have the "emotional days" to think straight and get our head around things, and the last thing we need is have to think about dinner!!! Mate you are doing really well and you will get a handle on "one of THOSE days"!! Keep going!!

we all have blow outs! but sometimes you deserve a special treat, if you dont allow yourself treats then its going to make it so much harder to stick to your diet, and aslong as it stays a treat youll be fine :)

HHHHHHH the boys are excited about having subway instead of Maccas next Thursday now. I am trying to make them eat properly too - and succeeding to a certain extent and have found that Nathan is heaps less cranky and sleeping better since he now gets more exercise - so my diet is helping the whole family :D

I agree one blowout in a week is pretty good going. Especially as you have made plans to change it next week. Keep up the good work Lolly.

Ah Lolly, you've done so well lately that 1 Macca's dinner isn't going to kill you!! Try not to beat yourself up about it, although I know how hard it is not to!!
Next week will be better, you've already organised Subway and it's great that you have the kids excited about it too! Teaching them good eating habits at a young age is invaluable.
Oh, the Tandoori Chicken Deli Choices baguette from Maccas is pretty damned good, and good on the calorie/fat count too!! Just a suggestion for if you ever get stuck again :D

i agreee mate . Thinkof it like this 7 days of great eating and 1 blow out is waaaaaaaaaaay better then 7 days of crap eating and 7 blow outs . We all have days like that when we are strung out and takeaways is the only remedy . As long as we learn and can look back on it and understand why its no biggy mate .
