d'oh i was doing well

Postby losebabyfat_2005 » Fri Nov 25, 2005 5:34 am

I started on my new diet (sacred heart hospital diet) and followed it all day, my husband went out in the afternoon and I was left at home feeling sad. When he got home he gave me a chicken caesar deli roll ( which I couldn't have yesterday). I told him I didn't want and explained about my diet ( which he now doesn't approve of) and told him to eat it even though he'd just had a Mac Attack meal on the way home. He got upset, as he was just trying to cheer me up. I needed to go to my Mum's so I went there and 1/2 hour later when I got back it was where I left it and he was still upset so I ate to make him feel better. The whole ordeal just made me feel worse, I decided to start again today. I went for an hour long interval training walk cos I was feeling guilty.

Am I going to far with my dieting, my husband thinks I'm starting to turn anorexic.

Oh dear Tanya, I'm sorry to hear your husband didn't support you in this diet. It's loaded with vegetables , just short on starchy carbs.

I usually don't get support from any of my family either, they purposely bring in doughnuts, french fries, icing-buns and bars of chocolate, which makes it very difficult to stay focused on where I want to go with my diet, if I had a guys metabolism I'd be skinny.

I really think celebrating your husbands 21st Birthday this weekend is important, just have small servings of everything.
I do hope you start the diet on Monday

That's no good. But the way i see it, it seems he just doesn't quite understand your reasoning. I don't think he's trying to sabotage you deliberately, he's trying to stop you hurting yourself (it seems that's what he thinks you're doing). Maybe sit down with him, thank him for being concerned and so thoughtful and explain about the diet and how it works and that it's not anorexia. if I'm not mistaken, this diet is also short term? in which case make sure he knows that.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

thanks for the advice, I really do need to talk to him. And in regards to his party, which is tonight, i really don't have any urge or craving for junkfood or alcohol anyway, so i think I'll be fine.
