HHHHMMM a bit sad at the moment. I started at 71kg, managed after a month to finally move a little and get down to 69.5kgs and then went back to 70.5kgs while away for 2 weeks!!! I totally blame the drinking a few drinks every night for that!!

Well sitting on 70 still......how unusual. Total weight loss to date has been 1kg since Jan 1st. Wow how proud you all must be for me...... . This month is going to be different. I'm determined. Gotta cut down the alcohol and socialising a bit!

Hiya Groovychic ..... :D

A 1kg loss is better than a 1kg extra I reckon. !!

And where I come from Drinking is a part of our daily social culture so I can TOTALLY understand you when you talk about the "drinking thing" .

What do you drink ??
Do you mix it with Coke or Lemonade ??

Maybe there is something else you can drink which you can add fruit juice to or something so when you do drink it isnt liquid toffee ( ...... all this from a Rum & Coke lover  )

I find Vodka and Pinapple juice is nice ! Even the old PIMMS and Sprite Zero is nice ?

Personally I reckon, if you have a drinky'poo or ten one night, just work it off over the next week. Only the other day I posted in that I polished off a whole bottle myself - dehydrated myself COMPLETELY) but what is there left to do other than jump back on the band wagon and off we go again ....

You are worth it, and you can do it. 8)
I bet by this time next week you've shifted down the scale again and you will posting this victory for the world to see. :D

Thanks for that guys! I will weigh in on Monday and see. I havent been eating all that much as I am working more now but at work I sit on my bum all day! Hopefully that will change after easter as I will have finished the training componant on the pc. I run up the stairs now when I go upstairs to make a cup of tea or toilet or have my lunch........kitchen and toilet are upstairs. So I am pleased about the stairs. I just have to get out of bed at 6 on the 2 mornings that I start early so I can get the treadmill in before I have to start getting kids ready for school and house organised before leaving for the 35min drive to work!!!

Geez my life has changed so much since reading those posts!!! I am down to 68kgs as you can see by my ticker but since taking my treadmill back in May I've been a lot slacker with the exercise. I am going about 5 times a week for a brisk walk. It takes me about 30 mins and I do about 3.5kms or so in that time. Yesterday I went for a 45 min walk, which was great. I am sitting here looking out the window and thinking I really need to go out there but it looks ominous. Its been raining quite a bit today. Not at the moment but you just know as soon as you get more than 500 metres from the house it'll piss down!!!! I don't really feel like getting drenched. And I hate walking with the umbrella, but I might just have to! My father passed away in June and my mum is selling their house as it is not suitable for her on her own, so she has given me her gym set. I just had a play with it. Something must be wrong with the bands or something tho cos geez I had to pull damn hard when it was on the first weight. I am assuming that is 10 lb cos it has 10 on it. I don't think it would be 10kgs! Blimey either I am a weakling or Frank has done them up way too tight!!!! HHHMMM maybe the first one there hey! Bugger it all!!! Anyway I dont know how to work some of the stuff so I have to wait until mum finds the book and gives it to me. I need to get back into the weightloss tho. I had a really bad day today and ate some cake and ate some chocolate, and had a pepsi. I have been really good the last few weeks with food and blew it today. Thats what happens when Frank is home with me.....bugger!!! :? But I am back at work tomorrow so back to the healthy food again. I am trying to lose the next 3kgs over the next 2 months. I am going to reward myself when I lose that 3kgs with a new digi camcorder. I got my home videos converted to dvd. Cost me a fortune and they didnt turn out all that great. A bit like when you watch asian shows where they have changed the voices with english and the old lips keep moving but the voice has stopped!!! Cept its the other way around, the lips start moving and then the voice starts about 2 seconds later!!! Makes it very entertaining I guess! Right gonna take the plunge and go for that walk before I have to go and pick Alex up! Even if it is only a 15 minute walk it's better than nothing!

Well here I am again. Having another go at this whole weight loss episode! I seem to have had a lot of motivation in the first few months of this year. I think having that treadmill was a huge motivated. I did try to hire one again but it got too difficult so ended up buying the cross trainer. Which I do like but would have preferred the treadmill. O well. Now that it is starting to warm up a bit I can swim more. I have been in the pool 3 times in the last couple of weeks to do laps. I tend to last only about 15 mins or so before I get bored tho. And another month the dog should be old enough to start doing a few decent walks around the place. I need to get myself motivated with the exercise tho. I need to get on it at 6 in the morning and again at 5 in the arvo I think. Twice a day would be good. I'm really only going on it every 2nd day at the moment. And I have decided that I am not eating enough protein. I'm going to go the chemist today and see what they have in meal replacement drinks that contain a lot of protein. One of those for breaky each day would be ok. And I am vowing to eat less for tea. I think that is a large part of my problem. I have really looked at what I eat, and yes there are the odd cakes and biscuits etc but it is a lot of good healthy food as well. But I eat a large dinner at night. So I am going to purchase a few smaller dinner plates today. I need to get them for the kids anyway. They have had plastic stuff since they were little and it is well and truly time they got some real stuff!!! But I want to get a smaller size for them. The true dinner plate size is way too big. PLus I really don't want them to get in the habit of eating a large dinner. They have not been eating so much junk food lately, much to my son's disgust. I've been baking muffins and cakes etc. And of course he would prefer some bbq shapes or chips etc. But hey there are none in the cupboard mate!!! You will just have to have a home made muffin!
So here is my pledge I suppose :
* I will pull my finger out with the exercise routine
* I will discover a new way of consuming more protein
* I will eat less for dinner
* I will cut more cake and biscuits etc out of my diet

I drink plenty of water so that is not something that I need to add to my pledge!

My weight today is 69.5kg. Fingers crossed I will drop that down next week! :D

Hey Rochelle that is some great plans you have written there!! Good on you for not allowing your kids to eat a lot of junk!! You son will soon get used to it, you'll see!! Check out Annette Sym's Symply Too Good Too Be True cookbooks, she has loads of baking and desserts in there so you can literally, "have your cake and lose weight too!!" I always cut the sugar down further still with some of her recipes, so it cuts the calories down even further!! Just remember that we are here for you if you need us!!!

Best of luck with everything Rochelle.

I have a lot of protein through the day but found not enough at breaky. I found a protein shake thingy at the chemist and have it with milk most mornings although I am having it for the protein boost and not as a meal replacement which you could probably do but I also have cereal as I also want the carbs. It's called anytime protein and I find it a bit yummy!

Well I bought the protein thingo and yes its really designed for weight lifters....hahaha!!! The old boy reckons I will end up "bloody huge"!!! It says on the can it can be a meal replacement for weight loss. Not sure if it will help. I just grabbed it in coles as it was on special and it had bonus flybuys......hahaha!!! I didnt get time to get to the chemist so just grabbed it there.....but hey I get bonus flybuys  . Anyway it is called Instant Natural Protein and is by NaturesWay. It will only last 12 drinks but thats ok. I'll have it with water I think. It says you can have it with milk but if I am having it as a meal replacement then I think water is probably better. Mind you if it tastes like crap with water I will try milk! Its chocolate flavoured and has all over the can that its not genetically modified!!! That must be a really important thing with protein drinks maybe cos it says it heaps on the can!!! So the plan is to have fruit with yogurt and all bran on for breaky - around about 1100 or so kj's then the protein drink for lunch and then a small dinner. I'll have to have a snack late morning and mid arvo so I will try really really hard to have a piece of fruit or carrot or something.

Good one Rochelle.

I have seen that protein amongst others but was originally looking for whey protein so I could just add a scoop to breaky but didn't know what all the different ones were, it was all a bit confusing plus I was looking for something to add to water not milk. Can you do that with this one you got? What sort of protein is it whey or soy? Let us know how it goes.

Don't worry this sort of thing is not only for bodybuilders and can be used as a meal replacement or protein fortification for weight loss. :D

Its soy protein kim and you can really taste that. I made it up yesterday for lunch with water and then rang my sister to have a chat whilst drinking it. And to be honest it tasted like crap! My sister reckons try it with milk. So I said that to my other sister who came to visit yesterday arvo and she said yes but you better get skim milk. I've always bought hi-lo but she reckons thats not good enough!!! She has always been a skinny minny as well!!!
Anyway yesterday was an interesting day. I went for a hair trim and then had to go and buy milk and fruit and veg from the store and was being really good. I went to get the mail from the post box and I was thinking holy sh*t I really want something naughty. The bakery has just been renovated and there are new owners and it is straight across the road from the post office, but I resisted. I felt so good. And you all thinking o good on you!!! But then I went to my girlfriends house to give a few things I had picked up at the shops the day before and she had this really yummy looking cake that she had just bought from the bakery!!! OOOOOO bugger bugger bugger!!! So I had a cup of tea and a small piece. It was just a plain cake with some syrup stuff on the top. It was very nice. So I failed miserably!! And then..... On my way out to my mum's place with the kids to do the "ceremonial dumping of the ashes" as the old boy keeps referring to it, I stopped at the ampol and the kids got an ice cream each and I couldnt help it. My tongue was hanging out of my mouth and I was making a puddle with the drool.....well not literally but thats what it felt like....so I bought a giant sandwich. Figured that was probably the best ice cream of the lot to not really go silly with!!! So bugger it all I failed again. Twice in one day!!! And I need to go to the shops today to look for the damn skim milk, which I doubt that they will even have here.....I am doomed!!! But I will try really hard again and I am gonna have 2 glasses of water before I go so fingers crossed I will be full. I might even have an apple as well!
