Brodies Journey

Postby Bro-Bride2Be » Mon Feb 25, 2008 4:28 pm

Just before the start of the new year i had this massive feed of nachos, and it made me feel quite sick
Seeing i got a set of scales for christmas (really a voucher for the local electronics store) i needed to know the truth about my weight.
Standing on them i weighed in at 99.7kgs as of the 29th of december
And it sunk in that as at only the age of 18 it is unhealthy to be at that kind of weight. I sat out the front for around 2 hrs drinking around 11 cups of water and feeling sick in the stomach i knew that i desperately had to change my lifestyle.
Also with my wedding coming up in october this year i wanted to be a beautiful bride for my fiancee nathan to be proud to have, even though he loves me the way i am and tells me everyday. I didnt want to look at myself in the mirror in a wedding dress n not like what i saw.
So now, roughly two months later i weigh in at 89.6kgs.
I have reacged a plateau at the moment, only loosing 100g-1kg and its driving me insane but i know that if i can keep pushing on and look towards my sister for support as she is on her own weight loss journey -Tam a.k.a. Big Love- i know that she will inspire me as i have her. Its easier as a team coz we will keep pushing each other to reach our goals.
My goal weight is 75kgs. Once i reach that i will see how my body looks/feels because i dont want to be uber skinny. Just fit, healthy and happy.

Brodie :D :D
My wedding is in october, and im marrying the most gorgeous man alive.

Hiya Brodie and welcome... you've done so well in such a short space of time... I know that feeling of plateauing as I've reached that stage myself since about 86 Kilos... I was flying before that but now it's real slow... but look as long as we are doing the right things then this is just a consolidation process and we've just got to fight through it and hopefully it'll get easier and besides if you are like me it's still coming off but real slow...

Anyway Tam is going great and it'll be awesome for you both to have each other as support in your respective journeys. Good luck and I have a good feeling about your progress and believe you'll get where you want to be by October and your wedding will be perfect...

JP/

Welcome to the forum, Brodie! It's great that you've joined your sister here. If only I could convince my sister to post here too!

You've done amazingly well with your weight loss so far. Hopefully the support and helpful advice of the forum (as well as that of your wonderful sister) will help you on the rest of your weight-loss journey. And I hope you have fun while you're doing it!
