That's wonderful. It's sure to have at least some effect on you eating of the chocolate. And any bit of help is a great start. Though I'm sure you know that. Good luck

Whatever happens for the rest of the day, I am considering this one a success since I actually went and did booty despite having a migraine and haivng the visual problems associated with it. Urrgghh.

On the up side, the pain stayed away until I finished - I think I found a new cure for migraine... boxing!!!

Starting my eating/exercise diary again!

7:00 - 8:00: BOOTY! Yeah baby, 1hr of boxing and my arms are bupkiss!!
8:30: porridge (made from muesli, so about 1.5 cups of oats and dried fruit, I usually make it with water, but this time it was skim milk)
9:30: mandarin and a banana (I'm always hungrier in the morning  )
2:15: left over vege curry with about 1/2 cup rice mmmmmmmm
5:30: handful of dates and cashews
8:00: grilled trevalla and vegetables (ate out)
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).

Exercise as a migraine treatment makes sense, provided your migraine isn't too bad at the time of course! Since migraines are caused by swollen blood vessels in the brain, getting the heart pumping and drawing that blood away to other parts of the body should help delay the symptoms, or even alleviate them altogether.

You're doing amazingly well, Tegan. Good on you!

Thanks Ali! It certainly helped at the time! I think also the fact that other parts of me were hurting was taking my mind off it  I don't much care, 'cause it was FUN (I forgot how much fun good vigorous exercise is, I think it was starting to get me down just purely from having not done anything for a while due to my back)

The pain came on a little, but it was a mild one this time, so a couple of panadol managed to alleviate it enough to get on with my day. Still a little foggy round the edges though. It's the visual stuff that gives me the willies. It came on while I was driving and let me tell you, it's scary not knowing if there is realy no car beside you or if that's just that migraine blind spot. Luckily I was just near my desitination by that stage so I could stop and then I was fine by the time I left.

Just had a thought...Maybe that's why the migraine was so mild this time - because I did some exercise. There's some food for thought. Next time I think I'm geting one I'll go do some exercise and test the theory.

Weighed in today - 82kg! Not gaining :D now let's turn this baby around...

Ok, for today. I'm planning to head to the pipeline track with some friends for my regular weekend walk. We'll see how far they want to walk. If I'm not satisfied I'll walk them back to the car and do some extra.

8:30: porridge and 2 slices sprouted rye sourdough toast
9:30: 2 biscuits
11:00 - 12:30: walking hound
1:30: grilled fish, salad and chips (I only ate half of what they served of chips)
3:00: 6 weetbix
6:00: banana
7:00: turkey and vege stirfry and 1/2 cup rice

Ok, I've forgotten what I had to eat and exercise over the last couple of days, so can't write it down. No wait, I can do yesterday... my memory isn't THAT bad!

Yesterday:
7:00: - 7:45: The dogs at my friends house took me for a run along the beach
8:30: porridge
12:30: salad with leftover chicken cacciatore (sp??) home made, low GI protein meal (vaguely following a low GI diet LOL)
7:30: Went out for a friend's birthday. Had fishy-fish - I chose something that I HOPE fit my low GI plan (sometimes it's hard to tell with sauces and stuff, but I think it was ok)

Today
No walking of the dogs due to downpour and had stupidly brought my aerobics DVD case but theft the DVD in the player at home :x
8:00: porridge

and planning to be:
10:00 yoghurt
1:00: leftover vege curry

but it ended up being:
1:30 vege soup and 2.5 mini egg and bacon pies and a mandarin
6:00: leftover curry.

Ok, so I've missed a few days

Eating has been not too atrocious, though I was surprised that there was fried finger food at the booty cocktail party
Managed to stay away from that enough though to still have lost 1kg this week. And I should hope so too with all the work I've been doing at booty, and the dancing last night 8)

SO I'm down to 81kg. When I'm stably past the 80kg mark and back into the 70's I shall celebrate with a 70's party -all 70's songs and 70s costume and you're all invited (yeah ok, so I know that's a little excessive, but I WILL definitely dance around in the most atrocious outfit I can find to a soundtrack composed mostly of 70's music... If I can find any.... any ideas for songs gratefully received! )

If you're lucky I MAY post pics

Wow, Tegan. What an inspiration you are!
I know you've gained some of the weight back but, my goodness, you have done such a phenomenal job to not stack it all back on. It goes to show that even though life has its ups and downs that it doesn't have to mean we let go of the reins completely.
Best of luck with losing that 10kgs once again.

Thanks! I'm feeling more and more confident about it as I go :D
And my back is getting better and better so I may even take my bike up to Burnie this week so I can ride to placement (it's a manageable distance for me at this point in time I think). Ooooohh... bike......

man I love exercise! LOL Just starting to really edge back into it and re-discovering how fan bloody tastic it is! Ok, so I'm now officially a freak

I'm still at 82kg (courtesty of my atrocious eating habits - damn bikkies at work arrrggghhhh!) but I think all the booty and the increasing jogging is making some difference because I put a pair of trousers on the other day which were nearly skin tight across my erhum... booty... area, and they were a little looser. I did do myself a little calf injury, but physio has done her magic on that and I'm back with it. Just have to stretch more

Goal for today:

NO BIKKIES!!!!!!! (maybe I should do a sign up like the one at uni for the choccies  )

I think the bikkies sign is a good idea. If it worked for chocolate it can work for anything!

Congrats on your pants getting a bit looser. That's great news! I'm sure the scales will start reflecting that success soon. Just keep at it! You're doing really well. :D
