Dolly's Reduction

Postby Dolly » Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:49 pm

Yes I know, I know I'm back again years later (one of the original from when the forum first started)
I'll weigh-in every Monday (mainly because I know weekends are my biggest downfall days)
I think because I know myself to be fairly weak willed, I'll just
stick with some good old fashioned calorie counting.

Wha??? Oh Lordy the evil scales just gave me a really horrible read out!!
Looks like I got back to this forum just in time
Everything happens for a reason.

Thanks

Wow, well that looks promising (I haven't stepped onto the scale in a week) In the past I used to always weigh myself several times per day.
But then I guess, the first week is always a shocker to the system and the weight drops off (even with my thyroid gland problem)
I expect there won't be much loss next week.

I'm not into wearing out my knee joints by walking (I know too many people that have had those things replaced)
so instead I just stand on this Power TX shaking machine for 10 minutes 5 days per week,
its supposed to be equal to a 30 minute walk (tightens muscles and makes blood circulate really well)
https://globalshopdirect.com.au/index.p ... t&Itemid=1
changed my eating around a little bit too, I couldn't be bothered working out the calories as that made me focus too much
on food.
first thing in the morning I have my wake up coffee
at 11 am I have a plate of food divided into any equal portions of carbs, protein and vegetation
at 3pm I again have a plate balanced with equal portions of carbs (breads or rice or pasta) protein (yogurt or cottage cheese or meat with gravy or fish) and vegetation (fruit or vege)
then at around 7 pm I have a hot cuppa and a slice of toast.
Every time I think that I'm hungry I grab a drink or two.

I decided to cleanse my liver as I read somewhere that a liver that is not
free of fat and medications or alcohol can result in the metabolism not working
and diseases setting in, so I'm now following the book
The Liver Cleansing Diet by Dr Sandra Cabot ~link~
I went to the doctor and asked her to weigh me to monitor my weight loss.
She approved of the diet in the book and asked me to come in once per month for a weigh-in with her.
She also knew I had a few medical problems so walking was not easy with a heel spur and a sore knee (from a jogging fall injury)
and my sore neck/shoulder from a work injury, and lung swelling from chemical poisoning at work etc...
Her recommendation was that I go swimming or walking laps in a pool as often as I can.
My husband agreed to go with me every Tuesday night, my sister said shed love to go with me every Thursday morning and my
sister-in-law said she MIGHT go with me every Wednesday morning but I won't hold her to it
as I don't think she really wanted to go, who knows? I might even get brave enough to go by my chubby self
to the heated pool at the rec centre (of course when the summer hits, I'll go swimming in my own pool here at home)

Good luck with the liver cleansing diet, Dolly. I hope it works well for you. And I hope you have fun exercising at the pool. It sounds like you have a really good plan going! Let us know how you get on. :D
