miss_viva's progress

Postby miss_viva » Tue Sep 08, 2009 6:56 pm

I just weighed myself and I was 89.5kgs.... actually, I weighed myself four times, because I didn't believe that I was actually in the 80s. I honestly can't remember the last time I was in the 80s, and when that number flashed up, it felt amazing! I'm finally getting somewhere, even if I have a lot to go still! :D

Thank you Shalimar!

I feel so happy to see the numbers going down on the scales, but sometimes it feels a little bit frustrating that I can't really "see" it on my body yet. Some days I feel like it's noticible, and other days I feel like there's been no difference at all. I'm kind of at the point where a size 16 is too big, and a size 14 is too small, so maybe after a few more kilos, a size 14 will fit properly and I'll feel like my body is actually changing!

I still have days like that but thankfully they are getting fewer and fewer as time goes on :) .

Hey all,

I'm feeling pretty damn happy at the moment! I just ran into someone that I hadn't seen in quite a while, and she commented on how much weight I'd lost since I'd seen her last. I was feeling a little miffy yesterday because I didn't think it was at all noticible, so this has given me a pretty big boost! :D

Yes it's always hard for us to see for ourselves. I can't wait for someone to comment. But first I have to lose the weight. hehe Keep going, you're clearly doing something right

Thanks Amethyst!

How are things going for you? I haven't really told anyone outside of my family that I've undertaken this weightloss journey, so I'm just hoping that people will notice in time. I'm getting a few comments here and there, but they seem to come from people I haven't seen in a while. It's a pretty good feeling though, and it definately makes you feel like you're actually getting somewhere with this and that the hard work is worth it! I'm sure people will start commenting on your weightloss soon, I think sometimes it's hard for the people we see on a day to day basis to notice the changes because they're so gradual. (Unless you're the wonderwoman Shalimar :P)

My journey seems to be going alright. I'm heading in the right direction which is all I can ask. Telling your family might be a good idea for support (if they're the supporting kind) That's the general advice given usually :) And it might open their eyes and say "Hey! she is getting smaller/thinner/etc" But sometimes it feels better when they notice on their own. There's always the "I don't want to imply she was fat/ugly/etc" before" problem. And if it makes you feel better Shalimar has had worries about her nearest and dearest not commenting too. :)

Thanks Amethyst! I actually did tell my family, but none of my friends etc. I definately think it's better if people notice on their own accord, it kinda feels like they're actually noticing because you lost weight, and they're not saying it because they think that's what you want to hear!

Anyhow..... progress to date:

I don't really have a set weigh in day, I've kind of just been updating here whenever I've lost half a kilo. I'm thinking from now on I might make Tuesday my weigh in day, and see how that goes. I'm guessing that this Tuesday won't be too promising though, given that it's TTOTM and I'm actually feeling pretty unwell today. I don't usually suffer from any symptoms at all, but today I seem to have gotten a few months (or years!) worth all at once. I felt completely dizzy at work today, almost fainted, and ended up coming home early. Not to mention I completely freaked out my colleagues. Pretty impressive on my behalf :-s

So needless to say, I didn't get a chance to do any exercise today, but other than that I've been pretty good lately, and walking about 5kms a day, and watching what I eat. I haven't had any major slip ups this week, but I've actually been feeling the need to snack a lot more. I've resisted most of the urges so far, but my god, it's so hard at times! There were two occasions where I gave in and had a biscuit, but on the whole, I guess that's not too damaging!

Ok, well I didn't get a chance to come online and weigh in, but I've lost 200gms this week, so i'm now at 89.3kgs. Not a big loss at all, but hey, a loss is a loss and I'll take it! I'm hoping that my results will be better next week, given that it's TTOTM at the moment. I also haven't been feeling really great this week, so I haven't had a chance to exercise much, so I'll definately try and work on that more this week.
