Thanks for the support Fi! I sure hope you're right about the break :)

Well, so far so good today!

I ended up going to Wet 'n' Wild with some friends and I took my own lunch as planned. I spent all day swimming around in the pool and walking up stairs to get to rides, so that has to count for some exercise! I wasn't too tempted by all of the food available there, motivation levels are good at the moment and it's much easier to resist all of those yummy things. If anything, I probably ate less than usual today, since I was distracted by all of the swimming and rides :)

Today's food diary:

Breakfast: 2 x sultana toast and half a glass of orange juice.

Lunch: A low fat cheese and turkey sandwich on wholemeal bread.

Snack: A banana and a skinny latte.

Dinner: (will be) Chicken skewers and salad.

Snack: (will probably be a skinny latte and a nectarine).

Today's exercise: Swimming all day/walking up stairs.

Yay, I'm still on the right track! No slip-ups yet, and I'm feeling really positive still.

Today's food diary:

Breakfast: 2 x sultana toast and 1/2 glass of orange juice.
Snack: A skinny latte.
Lunch: One slice of wholegrain bread with low fat cheese and turkey breast, plus 2 extra slices of turkey breast.
Snack: A medium banana and a skinny latte.
Dinner: (will be) Low fat cheese and spinach triangles and a salad.
Snack: (will be) Possibly a nectarine, or if I'm feeling indulgent, a biscuit.

Today's exercise:
1200m swim.

Actually, on that note, I had an encounter with such a strange man at the pool today. I actually was feeling great in the water and could have gone on for longer, but I had to abandon my session to get away from him. I was swimming laps, and he was in the lane next to me. When I got to the end and took a 20 second break, he was there waiting. We then had the following conversation:

Him: Hi
Me: Hi
Him: Are you interested in diving, because I can hold my breath for a really long time.
Me: Not really, I'm just swimming for pleasure.
Him: I can swim underwater for 35m.
Me: That's excellent, well done....
Him: You know, I waved at you under the water before, and you didn't wave back.
Me: Oh... sorry, I guess I didn't see you. I was in my own little world. (Thinking: this is really strange!)
Him: Yeah... Well, I'm going to wave to you when you swim past again.
Me: Ah......ok then.

So I swam off and left him, and he stayed at the other end of the pool. As I swam back again, he swam out into the middle of the pool along the bottom, and sat on the bottom of my lane, holding his breath and waving at me..... and then proceeded to keep doing the same thing for another 2 laps until I got completely creeped out by it and abandoned my session.

Him: "Oh, you're leaving? Ok, well hopefully I'll see you next time then."

I just ignored him, this is completely weird behaviour, right?!

Hi Miss Viva

That would a very unnerving experience - perhaps report him to management if you have him doing it again. That seems like harassment to me, and you don't know if he is trying it on with other people who might not be as assertive as yourself. He could be a menace as well as a prat!

He was there again this morning and tried the same thing! This time I just completely ignored him, and kept on swimming. When I got to the end of the lane, he swam up and said "hi" and I replied "hi" (solely so I wouldn't seem completely rude). He went to say something else, but I just turned around and swam off. He tried a couple more times, and then seemed to get the message and left me alone. Hopefully that's the end of the creature from the black lagoon!

Thanks for the message Brendan :)

Whoops, I accidentally quoted 'myself' then instead of Brendan! Sorry!

Anyway, since I'm posting again, I weighed in this morning and I was down to 84.8kgs - a loss of 1.3kgs in just three days! I'm pretty impressed with that, and it also means that I'm again back under the '30kgs lost' mark. Yay! When I'm trying to lose weight, I usually monitor my weight every morning, but have an official weigh in once a week. I'm going to make Friday morning my official day this time.

That's great news - it gives you a boost in confidence when you lose more than you expected.
And glad to hear that the prat might have given up, keep an eye on him in your peripheral vision though - he sounds like a real weirdo.

keep up the good work, and thanks for your words of encouragement too!

Thanks Bren :)

Ok, well I didn't get a chance to update yesterday, as my internet connection was down.

Yesterday's food diary:

Breakfast: 2 x sultana toast, 1/2 glass of orange juice.
Snack: 1 x skinny latte.
Lunch: 1 x teriyaki sushi roll and 2 x spinach and cheese triangles.
Snack: 1 x nectarine and some chic nuts.
Dinner: Chicken tonight with rice and vegetables.
Snack: 1 x skinny latte and an icecream

Yesterday's Exercise: 1200m swim and a 1 hour walk.

I was feeling a bit hungry in the afternoon despite having a snack, but I think it was mainly boredom causing me to be hungry, not actual hunger. I was getting into a bit of a routine of snacking in the afternoon, so I decided to distract myself by going for a walk and getting away from anything tempting. By the time I got back from my walk, it was time to start making dinner and the cravings have gone. I've also been trying to focus on drinking more water throughout the day, especially when I start to feel 'hungry'. Usually those feelings go after a glass of water, so I definitely think it's more psychological than physiological hunger.

I was unofficially down to 84.6kgs this morning, a loss of 1.5kgs since Saturday. That definitely helps keep my motivation levels up! My first mini goal is to get back under 80kgs again, hopefully by sometime in January, or earlier.

Ok, well just another quick update to try and keep me on track.

Today's food diary:

Breakfast: 2 x pieces of sultana toast, 1/2 a glass of orange juice.
Snack: 1 x skinny latte.
Lunch: 150gm salmon steak and light cheese.
Snack: 1 x plum and some chic nuts
Dinner: Minestrone soup and a bread roll.
Dessert: 1 x skinny caramel latte and half a piece of pavlova (splurge!)

Today's exercise: 1200m swim.

The pool is closed until next Tuesday (due to swimming carnivals), so I'll have to find alternative exercise for the next few days. I might go for more walks, or think about getting out the old treadmill again. I'm not much of a fan of indoor exercise, but the weather has been pretty ordinary here the last few days.

Thanks a lot guys!

Well, it's been a week since I restarted my weightloss plans, and it's been a good week. I'm still feeling positive and motivated, and I've managed to do at least an hour of exercise every day this week. I've actually been looking forward to my walks and swims.

I had an unofficial weigh in this morning of 83.8kgs - down 600gms from yesterday. I was surprised to see that much difference so quickly, and hopefully I can maintain and increase that loss by my next official weigh in :)

Yesterday's food diary:

Breakfast: 2 x pieces of sultana toast, 1/2 glass of orange juice.
Snack: 1 x skinny latte
Lunch: An open sandwich with one piece of bread, lean roast pork and one piece of light cheese.
Snack: 1 x low fat/low sugar passionfruit Greek-style yoghurt, some cherries and a couple of nuts.
Dinner: A steak with stirfry vegetables
Dessert: 1 x skinny cappuccino and a tiny piece of carrot cake. (If I'm being honest/disgusting - I really only ate the icing, as everyone knows that's the best part :P)

Lots of water throughout the day.

My food diary seems so boring, lol. I'm one of those people who tend to eat the same foods over and over until I get sick to death of them, then I move onto something new and do that to death. I've noticed that I've been eating a lot of steak lately, which is unusual as I'm generally not much of a red meat eater. Normally I'd probably eat steak once a fortnight, if that, but I've had it about three times this week.

Yesterday's exercise: 1200m swim.

I hope everyone has a really nice weekend :)

Do'h!

It's been overcast all day here so far and raining off and on. I thought there was a break in the weather, so I decided to go for a one hour walk. About ten minutes into my walk, I got absolutely drenched in a massive downpour! I figured I was already wet, so I just kept on going. This is what happens when I try and be good!
