JP - a new start..

Postby JP1 » Sat Feb 13, 2010 1:44 pm

BIG hello to all my friends out there (old and new)..

Well I've had a pretty BIG last 5/6 months - been overseas 4 times in that time and my life has taken a few turns *good and not so good* some of which I wouldn't have envisaged a year ago - but there you go..

One of the positives is that I've managed to secure myself a very good new job in Brisbane starting on Monday 15th Feb so that is going to be a challenge and keep me on my toes the next few months as there are some interesting projects coming up and I am going to have to be fully focused.

Therefore it seems a great time to really concentrate on myself health wise over the next few months too and make sure I'm fully on top both physically and mentally.. not that I've been too disappointed in my progress the last few months, before Christmas I got down to c87 Kgs and was starting to feel really good about myself. Had I perservered then and not had the distraction of knowing I was heading overseas again I felt I could easily head down to the lower 80's where I know I look and feel good.

So anyway I'm not starting today because I've been good since I flew home midweek but thought I'd start a new thread just to keep in touch with everyone on here and motivate myself to keep going.

First things first I want to get down under 90 Kgs again, it's become a barrier of sorts for the last year or so and it's about time I saw it off again.. from there I want to get to my previous low of 87ish and then head for 85 Kgs.

That should be enough of a goal for now and lets say I've got until Good Friday (Apr 2nd) to get there - I'm about 91.5 Kgs atm.

All the best everyone.

Lets hope so Helen though we all know on here that there is no such thing as 'once and for all'.. I think we if we can at least be honest with ourselves that is a major step.. for example I know especially at my age I'll never be Mr Universe (Gold Coast quite possibly  ) but at least I can feel comfortable where I am and for the most part I am in most aspects of my life.. I have my confidence back in myself and feel ready to conquer the world again.. now for a ten kilo's or so loss.. :P

Congratulations on the new job, JP. How exciting! I hope you really enjoy it. Good luck for your first day on Monday!

You've done so well so far. I'm in awe that you managed to lose so much weight even with trips overseas! Best of luck with your continued weight loss. I'm sure you'll do brilliantly as you usually do! :D

cheers,
Ali

thanks EWQ, looking forward to getting stuck in, not particularly looking forward to the commute..

Anyway fighting off boredom today which is the biggest obstacle I have in my weight control.. while l am away l can justify the extras especially when I'm out enjoying myself but at the moment it's just pure willpower - mind you theres nothing much to munch on in the fridge anyway as l take all temptations away!

Hopefully they'll be a nice little loss come Thursday..

Glad you rectified that coz I thought you must have a killer robot that needs to loose a few pounds

You are doing great JP. Nothing like a new job to help motivation wise! What line of work are you in (if you don't mind me asking)?

I feel your pain in relation to the rain! I'm near Brisbane and it has been raining non stop and I haven't been out for my runs. I'm going to try to go out in the rain today and see how I fair, at least it will be cool!
My journey so far...

I'm a bean counter from way back but these days just let my underlings do all the work and oversee the financing operations..
