Good start Sambo, you're almost at the halfway point!

Can you tell me about this couch to 5km program you're doing? One of my goals is to be able to jog 5k's!

There is also more info here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml You can find the plan on this site.

It's basically a walking/running program that gradually increases the running time each week. You do 3 sessions per week and they go for roughly 30 minutes each including warm up and cool down. Each week it steps up the time you run for.
It's designed to gradually improve your fitness as you go along.

I have knee problems, so I do this using my eliptical trainer. You just download the podcasts and play it on an ipod or stereo etc. The pod cast either has someone announce (or plays a tone) when you switch from walking to running and vice versa.

I found the Podrunner Intervals podcasts to be my favourites. They only have talking at the very beginning and has music with a good beat to get you going (the beats per minute increases for the running parts). Do a search on google, there are plenty of podcasts out there (for free)

Not a major lost this week, but still a loss. Went from 91.6 down to 90.9kg. Not bad since yesterday was my son's bday party and I didn't really eat sensibly

I even went out and bought new pants on the weekend. New jeans and new work pants. Stupid sizings though... the two pairs of pants are the same size, but the work pants are tight on me and the jeans fit perfectly. My legs are still chunky (work pants are tight around my thighs). Still at it though. 10 more kilos should be good, but may take a while. I've noticed that it's getting harder and harder to get a loss each week now

Good job pal. Use the pants as motivation! Now you're on the cusp of size whatever, lose a couple more kgs and you'll be able to say you definitely fit a size whatever

And 700g is a pretty good result for someone who's only 10kgs away from their goal weight and had birthday cake!

Thanks sanov!
My wife said I should exchange the work pants for a larger size. I said no way and I am keeping them as motivation to lose the weight.
I'm really hoping to get at least close to my goal weight by summer time. I'd love to be able to go back to the beach again and not worry about how my body looks. My son is also getting to the age where he will want to start swimming and I can't really tell him no he can't go swimming because his dad is too self-consious of his weight.
The motivation is there. It's just starting to get tougher to lose the weight now. The first 5 or 6kg dropped off pretty easily. Now I find if I don't exercise for a couple of days the weight starts to creep up again, even if I do watch what I eat. I've had some moments of weakness, where it's been really tempting to eat that whole box of biscuits instead of just 1 or 2... but I'm fighting it. It isn't easy though!

I've been trying to put pushups into my exercise routine. But man they're tough for me to do. My upper body strength is almost non-existant and I really struggle just to do 10. Still trying though!

went up and down for most of the week. Didn't exercise though. Slack...
But, still on 90.9kg. I swear the weight is taunting me. So close to my mini goal!!! Hopefully I'll get there by next week.

I hit the cross trainer pretty hard last night. I have the resistance almost on max all the time now. I've noticed that my legs are getting pretty damn toned now. I've always had big legs, but at least now they don't seem all flabby and yuck (well, not as bad as they did anyway). I actually almost broke the cross trainer though :? It's only a cheapie that my wife bought a few years ago. I had to stop mid-workout and tighten up all the bolts on it.

Anyway, after that workout last night I felt really good. But, got hit with insomnia something severe. I haven't had the duromine for a couple of days (I did today though) so I don't think that's the issue. Always seems like I have a bit of trouble getting to sleep after I exercise, and the harder I exercise, the harder it is to sleep. It's weird.

I'm so damn close to my mini goal. I'm going to set another goal inbetween this one and the main goal though. It's getting pretty tough to get the weight off now and 10kg between goals is pretty hard to achieve.
I'm going away on holidays with my son (wife is staying at home for her own little break from us boys) for a weekend in November. I want to be down to at least 75kg by then. I think it's doable.

Small loss this week. Didn't get much exercise apart from yesterday where I spent most of the afternoon chasing my son around at the park (and got sunburnt as a result :( ). But I ate reasonably well this week and stayed far away from the junk.
500g loss, putting me at 90.4kg this morning. So close to that mini goal!

Progress has been slow. I'm really struggling to get more of a loss happening.
Current weight is 90.5kg, so up slightly.

Still going slow... but still getting a loss thankfully.
90.2kg this morning.

I finished my duromine over a week ago and aren't planning on getting it again due to the cost and the fact that I'm still losing weight on my own.

Congratulations on your losses so far :)

Try not to get too hung up on the number on the scales, as difficult as that may be. You're probably gaining weight in muscle tone too, and muscle is heavier than fat. Continue what you're doing for a few weeks, and then try on the new pants that you bought. I bet you'll notice that they're a lot more comfortable on!

I used to use a particular dress as motivation, I could never get it on to begin with. After a while, I noticed I could get it on over my hips, then half way done up, then almost done up, and finally I was able to do it up one day. Sometimes we don't notice the changes on the scales, but it can be really obvious with clothing.

Best of luck!
