Alexandria's weight loss journey.

Postby Alexandria_ » Sun Jul 25, 2010 2:55 pm

Hello there!
This is my second week of my new weight-loss program, and I'd really love to keep track of my progress, especially with the help and motivation of people who have been through, or are going through the same thing as I am.

Last week I was at my heaviest point, being 101kg and 163cm tall, giving me a BMI of just over 38.2.
In the past week I've lost 0.4kg.

My mini-goals are:
95kg by 3.9.10
90kg by 15.10.10
85kg by 26.11.10
- I'd really like to meet my halfway mark of 82kg by the first day of 2011 -
80kg by 21.1.11
75kg by 18.3.11
70kg by 13.5.11
65kg by 8.7.11
- I want to reach my goal weight of 63kg by the 28th of October 2011 -

My healthy eating plan is something I've come up with myself (with a little help from my mum, who has lost quite a lot of weight in the past). I found out how many kilojoules put out by using a calculation I found in a CSIRO total health and well being book. By taking in 2000kJ less than that output, it says that you will lost around 0.5-1kg a week.
So the plan I've put together involves a lot more healthy food, and a bit of an exercise regime. I have a treadmill that I plan to use for in between 10 to 40 minutes a day, along with wii fit.

Hopefully I'll be able to be looking and feeling a lot more healthy by this time next year! :D

Good luck with your weight loss, Alexandria! It sounds like you have a good plan there. That 2,000 kJ deficit is per week isn't it? I'm 99% sure that's what you mean, but I thought I'd check to be sure!

The doctor recommended (as does the CSIRO book) that you take in 2000kJ less than your output each day, so I'm following their advice.
Is this not healthy?

Today I swam laps and did some push-up like exercises on the side of the pool for about an hour, and I felt amazing afterward.

And something exciting happened... today was the first time I've ever been able to feel muscle on my arms, not just fat! :D I am so happy with that. I keep making everyone feel my muscles hahaha.
I think that not just having the feeling of flab replaced with the feeling of muscle on my arms was definitely the highlight of my week.

And what better way to celebrate than to have a weight watchers cookies and cream ice-cream?
Not only do they easily fit in my daily indulgence category, but they're probably the best thing I've ever tasted.

I'm very happy to say that all my wii fit exercise with a little bit of swimming (and healthy eating, of course!) has lead to me losing 2.4kg this week.
I am very happy with that, and glad I'm double figures again! :D
