Sierra's progress

Postby halfthewords » Mon Sep 20, 2010 6:18 pm

This is my first post in the thread, so for my record:

Height: 5'7"
Current weight: 80kgs
Goal weight: 65kgs

Yesterday, I took Carl (dog) for a walk/jog around 1hr10mins. Ate pretty bad. My biggest vice is caffeine.

Today, walked dogs for 1hr10mins in the morning, cleaned car this afternoon, and took Carl for another walk/jog for 35mins just then. He's tired so I have to take it easy on him! Eating went well today; I did have a packet of chips and caved in to a 350ml Coke. Baaaad me.

I'm rejoining the gym tomorrow, and playing a game of basketball with my friend, possibly joining the team if I'm any good! I'm better at soccer, not so much with the hand-eye co-ordination, ahahah...

Once I reach my first goal of 5kgs, I will reward myself by...? Hm!

Hi and welcome Sierra :)

We have very similar starting stats.

What kind of dog is Carl? (Awesome name for a dog by the way!)

Hi, thanks! And we do indeed! How tall are you?

He's a staffy x cairn terrier. Think staffy size/looks but with fluffy hair. :D

Today was so-so. I didn't walk the dogs apart from a quick 10mins this morning because of the weather later today, but I have a basketball game later, so I'm sure that'll do me in. I rejoined the gym which feels good, and booked four classes for the rest of this week: beginner pilates tomorrow, boxing Thursday, Body Pump on Friday, and Ki Max on Sunday!

As for eating, pretty good. Had toast/water for breakfast, Subway (and coke :() for lunch, and some salmon/cheese/biscuits this afternoon. I'm trying to eat something before I leave for basketball, but I'm not very hungry and it tastes awful (rice dish).

I think I need less carbs in my life.

And I think I'll make my weigh-ins biweekly, every second Sunday. Drank well over 2 litres today, too! I also took photos for looking at later.

Fluffy staffy... hehe

I'm 167cm.. just under 5'7" I think, so very similar start stats.

I've done low carb before... quick results but I never could stick to it :( . I don't feel satisfied without something bready, no matter how much other stuff I eat. Hope you have better luck!

What's ki-max?

Bread is what gets me through the day at work, fruit does nothing and I tend to fall back on sushi as well. :(

Ki Max is a class at the gym that as far as I know involves a punching bag!

So I was wiped after the bball game last night--I was playing as a first-timer in an experienced division. I could have smacked my friend! Hopefully some practice will see me improve. :D

Today was better; worked and then took the dogs to Clontarf for 1.5 hours, some gentle exercise after last night! Then I nicked off to the gym for an hour this arvo: did 35 mins of cardio, and another 20 on the machines (focusing on traps/biceps/triceps). I missed my pilates class, bah. I definitely won't be missing the boxing class tomorrow! Also took the dogs for another quick walk when I got home. :D

Food was okay-ish. Toast for breakfast, couple sandwiches during work, sushi in the afternoon, and some lasagne for dinner. TOO MUCH CARBS! I need to eat more fish, and less bread. Seriously. Drank 2litres of water.

I'm thinking once I drop the first 5 kilos, I'll get a tattoo I've been wanting for a while. When I reach 15, I'll get the one I've planned for years. Still trying to think of things to reward myself--I'm not much of a material person.

I'm going to do some more research on meal ideas and portion control. I'm glad I decided to lose weight this way, because I feel like I'm learning invaluable information.

Sounds like you are doing awesome!!

I wish I found it hard to find rewards, I seem to justify myself a reward everytime I go shopping lol.
My journey so far...

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not much into shopping either, haha. I don't want to buy new clothes before I hit my goal or I'll have to throw them away!

Here are some "before" photos:

Good news! Today was my first weigh-in and I am down to 77! So happy!

I've been a bit bad with eating good between the carbs and caffeine (eheh) but that was what I saw when I got on the scales! My weight has been sitting around 79/80 for the last month so to see this number so soon is a GREAT feeling. It might be water weight, who knows--I've had breakfast and almost a litre of water already.

I'm loving being back at the gym. I went to a Body Pump class on Friday that I felt well until last night! I've booked myself in for another this Fri. :D I love be able to move muscles I haven't had in ages, not since I was horseriding regularly.

Hi guys! Just a quick update to report I've lost FOUR kilos! I'm now 76! I don't know what's up because I slacked a bit last week, only went to the gym once, and my eating's been slightly off, not to mention not drinking as much water as I should. Absolutely STOKED. I'm heading back to the gym tonight!

I'm thinking of starting up a Youtube channel or blog so I can do tips and meal ideas and things; health and fitness has always been an interest of mine. Doubt I'll put those photos up for the wide world to see, but if I can help somebody out, I'll do it!
