Hi, I've just introduced myself in the introductions forum and I have decided to use this forum to track my weight loss and exercise journey.
My current weight is 61.3kg which is within my healthy weight range but I would like to lose just a couple more kgs and I have set myself a target to run a half marathon by the end of the year. I'm not sure how hard that will be or even if there is any chance I will be able to do it - but hopefully if I track my progress here it will give me the motivation to stick with my goal.
Currently I do a lot of walking and since the beginning of the year I have picked up the pace a bit and do a slow jog also. I try to do this most days but I am a single mum with a six year old so it's not always possible. What I have started doing on the days I can't go walking/jogging is I run up and down the driveway about 60 times (the neighbours must think I'm crazy), then do a few squats, lunges, push ups and crunches. I've set myself a small circuit training routine so I am now starting to work my body all over.
Next weekend I am starting a beginnings running group so they will hopefully help me train for the half marathon. I'll update here how it went.
The weather is quite hot at the moment so it makes it hard to exercise outdoors too much unless I do it at 6 in the morning. But I don't want to make excuses and will try to do some form of exercise everyday.
