Weight Loss Journey

Postby White Telopea » Sun May 15, 2011 5:08 pm

Hi All
Wonderful to see the forum back up - it's been a while since I checked.

Since my first entry in Introductions I have not been back to update so here I go.

After the completion of the local council's program to get the community moving and eating healthier I have had a break from the concerted effort to lose weight however I have not gone off the rails too much with what I have been eating and have maintained my exercise routine. Have been a little slack with portion sizes of some meals and have had an Easter treat, dark chocolate yummo, and a couple of beers at a micro brewery.

I started recording food and exercise again in my diary yesterday and after weighing in this morning I was pleased to see that I have not done any damage with my break from the weight loss routine. Weighed in at 80 kgs exactly.

I will record an update on this thread regularly.
Regards to all
Allison

Weight this morning 79.4 kgs.

Had a really hectic week with meetings 2 nights after work and late home 2 other nights so I have not eaten as well as I should. I have been eating soups and other quick easy meals from the freezer but not eating enough vegetables so I will have to concentrate on improving that over the next week or two.

Exercise has been as usual with a +30min walk every morning and zumba one evening.

Quite a good week but improvement required in the quality of food eaten however happy with the weight loss.

Weight this morning 78.1 kgs, think I might be losing weight too fast as this is over 1 kg for the week. Maybe just a bit of a weight loss spurt.

Food choices have been better although still not enough vegetables eaten. I have resorted to take away jacket potatoes on two occasions this week for my evening meal. Once with coleslaw and the other with beef curry - no sour cream though. Will spend this afternoon getting vegetables ready so that it will be easy to cook my evening meal this week. Will also be more careful with my lunch choices to increase the vegetables there also.

Exercise has been as usual with a walk every morning, except Friday when we had our first rest day for three weeks. Also had zumba one evening.

Have had a great week cleaning out my wardrobe of clothes which are now too big and finding clothes which have been too small that now fit. Hooray. New clothes to wear and haven't had to payout any money. I have also found my rib cage although I need to be laying down on my back and have gravity to assist.

Body measurements are getting smaller and in the past 3 months I have lost the following off
Bust - 4 cms
Waist - 7 cms
Hips - 7.5 cms
Upper Arms - 2.5 cms
Thighs - 4 cms
Calves - 1.5 cms

Weighed in this morning at 77.5 kgs, another good week.

Meal choices this week have been much better with vegetables or a large salad eaten each evening. Lunches has also included salad sandwiches or vegetable soup most days. Have even been able to enjoy a meal out for my birthday and indulge in a wicked dessert - profiteroles with peppermint ice cream and chocolate sauce. Ate too much but it was only for the one meal and I was back on the good food wagon the next morning.

Have enjoyed a big walk each morning this week. Even this morning when the weather was awful we managed to fit a walk in between rain periods.

We are getting to the stage where if we don't get our daily walk we feel that something is missing. When it started getting dark on our morning walk we just bought head torches and kept going at the same time. Even this morning when the weather was bad we found a way to fit a walk in, shorter than normal but still 30+ minutes.

Weight this morning 77.0 kgs.

Have been up and down over the past fortnight with weight, food choices and exercise. Sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Although, never really poor choices.

Have a busy week ahead so hopefully I will able to make good food choices and fit in some exercise.

Hi All,
Thanks for the kind words. They are much appreciated, the acknowledgement of my efforts by others helps to make the hard work wothwhile.

Been very busy with the end of the financial year so I haven't had a chance to do a proper update but my weight this morning was 75.3kgs. I have been continuing with my efforts and managing to walk most mornings although I have missed 4 mornings in the last 10 days or so due to bad weather. I haven't been cooking as much as I should however my food choices have been o'k and I am managing to eat some vegetables everyday. Thank heavens for the freezer stocks, although I will need a big cooking day to restock soon.

Hopefully work will slacken off soon and I will be able to get back to normal. I am pleased that I have been able to keep to my personal program even during a busy time when in the past I would have made very poor food choices and let the exercise go.
