Absolute truth - my weight loss diary

Postby feelgood2 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 10:19 am

Right I need to get serious now. I have 10kg I would like to lose to get back to my 'happy weight'. I've never had a weight problem before - but I think since having a baby, my life has become more focused on being at home - instead of getting out and being active like I always used to.

I started Censored a while back so I could have some structure (and remember to eat). I found it really great and pretty easy to stick to, however of course I 'fell off th wagon' when I had a wedding interstate, so have put back on the 3+ kgs that I lost. I am naturally pretty muscular and reasonably toned (besides my belly after baby of course), so I will be focusing on the cardio side of things, but any weights I do will be a bonus, as I want to make this 'habit' first. What's the old saying it takes 21 days to make a habit? Well here goes...!

I will be doing a daily log in here to keep myself accountable and watch my progress. I'm happy for anyone to read along (and motivation is always welcome)!

My daily goals for my plan at the moment are:
*to do 5km per day on the treadmill (can be walking/jogging/running).
*to follow the Censored plan

Ultimate goal: 55kgs
Currently: 65.6kgs

First goal: 64kgs by 27th November 2011
Second goal: 62kgs by 11th December 2011
Third goal: 60kgs by Christmas Day 2011
Fourth goal: Maintain 60kgs until 4th January 2012
Fifth goal: 58kgs by 15th January 2012
Sixth goal: 56kgs by 29th January 2012
Seventh goal: 55kgs by 12th February 2012.
Final goal: Maintain 55kgs with healthy lifestyle :D

Well done, keep up the good work!

A question though - does your current diet include a lot of fruits or vegetables? I think they are really important to weight loss and it doesn't seem like you are including many in your eating plan. I'm not here to criticise your diet, as different things work for different people, I'm just curious :) Vegetables are great for the essential nutrients and vitmains your body needs and they are also generally low in calories.

Also, I know what you mean about posting on here. Even if no one else reads what you write, it makes you feel accountable and therefore more likely to continue with your weightloss. As soon as I stopped posting regularly on here, my weight crept back on. This board is excellent for keeping people on track.

Hi Miss_Viva. Yes you're right about the veges! I am definitely a big meat eater, but the first three days are supposed to be protein only on the Censored plan so I have been trying to keep them to a minimum - and BOY do you miss them. Now that it's virtually summer I am trying to do lots of salads and stirfrys, but generally I would say I eat fairly healthy - the problem for me seems to be carbs e.g. potato's, potato chips, soft drink and ice cream (gotta love a Magnum) lol.

DAY 5

Did my 5kms in 43.20mins. Tick!

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with mushrooms and tomatos. 2 small nectarines
Snack: Cheesecake snack
Snack: Cupcake (argh)
Lunch: Chicken Caesar salad
Dinner: Pizza (4 small slices). I had beautiful bbq lamb chops ready to be cooked and the BBQ ran out of gas and it was too late to get to the shop and get a new gas bottle WAHHHH! Oh well normally I would have had 7 slices and also 2 glasses of coke. This means I only get one cheat meal on Sunday now...

DAY 6
Its official I have the flu. Feeling very blah today... :?

Did my 5kms just walking - but at least it's done!!44 minutes

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs on one slice toast
Snack: Cheesecake
Lunch: Roast chicken and salad
Snack: Cheesecake
Dinner: BBQ lamb chops and salad

Not sure if I will have a snack tonight - will see how I feel. Feeling very proud of myself as normally when I feel like crud I would let myself have a coke and some chips to cheer myself up and 'make me feel better'. Hubby brought home hot chips with the chicken today as well and I didn't even have one! Tomorrow we're out at a friends place for lunch - but I dare say they will have some healthy choices there. I WILL NOT be tempted to break tomorrow as I'm really looking forward to having a cheat meal on Sunday. I'm thinking maybe pancakes (don't know why I'm craving them - normally I don't like them)

Metalcharm - thanks for that link. It worked - makes me keep on track as I have been dithering for the last 4 months or so losing 3 kgs and putting it back on again. Rinse. Repeat.

DAY 7
Breakfast 2 boiled eggs with toast
Snack: Cheese & biccie x 2
Lunch: Burger patty and salad a spoonful of potato bake
Dinner: CHEAT MEAL (Maccas) and I had a beer as well as the maccas soft drink.

So ended up having the cheat meal today as I couldn't be bothered cooking and DH and DD had already eaten the leftover pizza.

Did my 5kms walking on the treadmill in 44minutes
