Hey Dee - thanks!!

Well, things have been really off track here the last few weeks... I have not been eating well or exercising. I have still been trying - for example when going to KFC I looked for the item on the menu with the least amount of kj's... but still it was KFC :(

I am behind in my Uni work as well as I just seem to have lost all motivation for anything lately.

I have just been really tired as well - which is partly due to not having my cpap machine running, but I got a new mask yesterday so should be back to good nights sleep soon.

The kids are good, but like all kids there are issues which seem to constantly need to be dealt with...

I actually am really missing smoking now - the first few weeks it didn't bother me - but now I am constantly just wanting to have a cigarette  I thought it should get easier as each week went past not harder....

went to the Dr the other day and my normal GP is away, so saw this other guy who wants further testing on my thyroid - will be interesting as I have always had a goitre with nodules, but most Dr's just point it out, do the basic test and say it's fine - this Dr said the basic test is not enough... he also mention going on a HCG diet - has anyone heard of that?

Hope everyone is doing well - sorry I haven't been around much or very supportive over the past few weeks - will try and get back into the swing of it tomorrow!

Am going to get back to counting calories tomorrow.

Take Care

Never hear of the HCG diet so googled it thinking it would be a diet specifically for thyroid problems but find it's just another "magic" diet.

Smoking and food at the same time's a hard ask but you've got through the worst,....are you on the sabotage track too?

Why, oh why, do we do that to ourselves/

Just had a quick look at the diet but I did not have time to really read about it.

I still went for a smoke years after I had given up, then thought hey I do not smoke any more! LOL It is not easy, but worth it in the end. Buy yourself a treat with the money you have save then you do not feel like you are missing out. Preferably not a sweet or anything. Mine was birth/death/marriage certificates LOL when I was doing may family history. Put the money aside and look through the catalogues to see if there is anything that you would like, even it is is new towels, something for the bathroom, some candles, ornaments, book, a lamp, anything that you would think twice about getting.

Hmm, my daughter has a thyroid problem, it showed up when her IVF tests came back, so she is on meds through the pregnancy, hers was low, the doc preferred it to be high. But it could have been the reason she lost the last two. Not that I think you would want to be pregnant LOL but it would mess with your body.

Cheers

Dee

Hi Guys,

I also googled the HCG diet and from what I read I am very surprised a Dr would recommend it...

I have to remember not to get up and have a cup of tea tomorrow so I can go have my blood test - but will also depend on the weather as it has been raining so heavy here and flooding everywhere they have been asking people not to drive unless they absolutely have to...

Have eaten much better today - toast for brekkie, actually had toast for lunch too and steak and salad for dinner.. am going to have one scoop of ice cream and some fruit salad for desert.

Bought a new exercise bike on the weekend and also a home gym - so will be able to start working out :D

Great news with the home gym, just don't go at it like a bull at a gate like I did yesterday LOL I can hardly walk today. I doubled the weight..... Anyway I still managed my walks today and I will do some dumbell weights in front of TV while watching MKR tonight.

Good luck with the tests, yikes I was supposed to have mine done before Christmas, I think the referral will not be any good now!

I hope you did not flood, and hope you had a good day.

Hey Dee,

No we seem to have moved to a good area - no flooding!! Where we were a few weeks ago has had the road cut a few tomes, so very lucky we moved when we did :)

I didn't get out this morning, in fact I hardly got out of bed today :( Some days I think I just need the extra sleep and also the chance to hide away from all the dramas that life brings.. today was one of those days!!

Am going to get off my butt and (hop back on it -lol) ride my exercise bike for the whole of biggest loser tonight!! Just have to go drag it inside first  - the bike that is!!

Take Care

The exercise bike i brought was the most usefull equipment i ever brought throughout my weightloss so far! They help so much. I brought a cheap one from big W and that lasted me 1 year, then i brought a spin bike off ebay for around $300, and it works so good. I got up to 89km/hr one time. Didn't stay at it though, just wanted to test how fast i could go. I sit on average about 69.9km/hr. Works wonders for me i love it so much.

Hi Vicki,

I hope you are OK now, I know what you mean about hiding away, I have been there, but not for a long time now.

Did you manage to ride the bike while watching TV? I was supposed to do dumbbells while watching MKR, but I forgot LOL

You will make up for it, plus you will get excited about your workout.

Thanks Phillip - this is a good old fashioned one that has moving handlebars as well - if you know what I mean?? will try and see how fast I can go tomorrow - but doubt it will be anywhere near your mark, lol.

Hey Dee, I know it sounds weird and like an excuse but without my cpap machine I don't get proper sleep and when I am tired issues seem much bigger and more insurmountable than when I am on the ball!!

I am a bit worried about my middle son Casey, he is really struggling with things lately especially school (he;s in year 12) and his psychologist suggested that he may have bi-polar, although his old psychologist (who went on maternity leave) thinks he may have aspergers.... I just know that he is adamant he wants to be 'normal', he even hates the fact he has narcolepsy and tries to pretend he doesn't have it and it does not affect him.... oh well, we will get there!!!

Got my tooth finally - lets hope this one lasts more than a week lol...

Didn't get to the exercise bike last night or tonight- but will definitely get to it tomorrow! I feel like i did nothing all day and yet I was so busy I didn't stop all day...

Take Care

The cpap is a great machine

Sleep apnoea can be a killer and makes you so tired even though you may think you've slept well.

Good to know it's working now and you're getting your sleep

I need a really good kick up the butt!!

I do not know what is wrong with me - but I have not stuck to a healthy eating plan or exercised...

I am still eating breakfast and the meals I am eating are good 80% of the time - it's just that I occasionally have had pizza or something I shouldn't have and also have been eating chocolate again... :(

Would you beleive we had visitors on the weekend and one of the kids kept playign int he exercise bike and ended up breaking it :( have to get some new bolts as the ones that fell off disappeared..lol

We started fostering dogs last week and our first pup has already been adopted.... coincidentally the adoptive parents had a hubby in a wheelchair - so he has volunteered to be a mentor to my son Mitchell - who has decided not to leave his room again

Casey had a specialist appt today and the Dr was a jerk - he had decided before we even got there that Casey does not have narcolepsy - simply that he has sleep deprivation - he asked no questions and just disregarded the results of the testing we have had done twice already..... Even Casey felt he didn't want to know and had already made up his mind prior to us getting there. In the end the Dr admitted Casey could have it - but he wants us to keep a diary for 6 weeks and then go back and then if he thinks it may be a possibility he wants to run another sleep study - he admitted he doesn't like the company that has done the previous 2. Just so annoying and frustrating!!! It has taken me 5 years to get someone to acknowledge that Casey has a sleep disorder and finally they listened to me - sent him for tests and diagnosed him - now I am back at square one.

Then my daughter decided to be very naughty tonight on top of it all....

Did still go to obedience training and the dogs and I had a good time at that at least!

Hope everyone else is doing better than me!!

Cut yourself some slack, woman!

You have so much going on in your life that you feel you need some comfort,...where do you go for it?

Do you have someone that you can vent to, who can empathise and give you the support you need?

We'll do our best here. help you up and dust you off..

Now, back to work for the next weigh in! xx
