Skinny's going to run 5ks!

Postby skinnyinside » Mon Apr 23, 2012 7:04 pm

I thought i would start a different progress page for my running! I am doing a couch to 5k running program and have just completed day 2.

DAY 1: is a 5min warm up followed by 6 intervals of running 1 min walking 90 secs. then 5 min cool down. I found this really easy and really good, i was definitely sweating but at no point did i feel like i was going to die haha.

DAY 2:this one is 5 min warm up then 8 intervals of 1 min run 90n sec walk intervals then 5 min cool down.

I didnt actually realise i had done 8 intervals instead of 6 until i looked at the app report afterwards. so i found this to still be well within my cardio ability and still quite comfortable, i am really hoping to build up with this app to run the 5ks. I want to do a fun run and then i will aim towards building up to 10ks hopefully.

I am going to keep a log here of my runs. If anyone wants to join me you are more than welcome, the app is couch to 5ks or u can download a podcast from running cool i think. :)

Good on you!
I did one of those programmes through an ipod ap and it was really surprising how it all crept up and then one day you run 5ks!

All the best to you. If you feel that if one of the days is too hard then repeat that day - will give you that little bit of time to get used to the new level. :D

Remember and have at least one day off a week.

I'm speeding up my walk on the treadmill...did 2.2k's in 30mins today.
I know it doesn't seem much but it's a lot better than when I first started :)
