Back from a second gruelling two hour walk.. No doubt I will feel it again in the morning but it's obviously doing me a world of good.. Planning my weekend out so I don't go off the deep end.. have a few mates that like nothing better than to sink plenty of beers

Off to a blistering start both eating wise and exercise wise.. 3 hard walks the last few nights up to 2 hours long and with some steep inclines and steps.. I know its not going to be this easy to lose weight later on and this week is down to a lot of beer evaporation ;) but I'm feeling top notch and motivated.. first big test is this weekend.. have to keep myself busy and mind off any thoughts of beer or bingeing..

Thought this was on my current thread :

Sitting at work just finished my tuna salad and I am so full I am having trouble finishing my fruit salad now.. Got to get through this weekend first, it is my biggest obstacle but will make sure I log on here.. Have some huge motivations to lose this time, not least a promise I have made to my best mate who I have just found out has terminal cancer and has been given one year to live give or take.. known him for 30+ years and it's the second time it has come back.. this guy has been fit all his life and has been a vegetarian now for over 20 years.. it's scary how indiscriminate that disease is but I've promised him I will get fit again.. he was well happy for me back in 2007/08 and this time it is for him as much as me..

Particularly happy with tonight's 2 hour effort, slightly different route and 4/500m's of jog.. Initial goal is to get down to May's weight and exercise which was about 99.5Kgs plus jogging about 2K's a night..

Just back from another 2 hour hike with inclines and a few hundred metre jogs throughout.. Pretty tired if truth be known but gets the weekend off to a good start..

Forgot to mention Jack the Lab this thread, he is getting old now and had a limp for months late last year.. Seemed to have cleared up but took him on Monday nights jaunt and noticed the limp beginning to return.. therefore I have retired him from long walks with me purely for his own good.. In meantime I will take him out for 30m walk tonight to compensate..

Also I want to start my sit ups and push ups within next couple of weeks.. Pool looked a bit naff when I got back from holidays and pool man only came round yesterday so will start with a bit of swimming too.. might as well dig my weights out too for some arm exercises, will be more beneficial than raising pints down the pub..

Thanks buttless, just got back from taking former walking partner for his walk which he loved.. Yup 5 Kgs which is quite amazing, I know a lot of this is down to 'beer evaporation' and that it's a "one off" - I obviously will find the losses much smaller from this week but I am putting in the effort exercise wise so hopefully there'll be some solid losses of over a Kg a week in the first few months..

Thanks for your encouragement, I am extremely motivated this time round having waited for the new year and I really DO NOT have any excuses over the next few months.. timing wise it's perfect with no distractions like Xmas parties etc, weather is perfect and I know exactly how my body works and more importantly what food intakes/exercise regime works/has worked for me in the past..

Have lowered my goal weight by a couple of kilos to really push myself over the next thirteen weeks..

So 90 days to lose 17 Kgs.. It's a big ask but I am off to a flyer and would expect to lose at least a kilo overage a week over this period.. let's see how we go!

Lost another few 000 grams over nite which is very pleasing, sooner or later these losses are going to grind to a halt and it's going to get harder but at the moment it's a nice feeling to see the weight on the scales tumbling day after day.. I'm really putting in the effort both diet wise and exercise wise and half the weekend gone without any temptation to indulge whatsoever..

Ended up taking Jack out for his walk last night, 40 minutes but woke a bit stiff and later this morning so have put my two hour walk off to this evening when hopefully it's a bit cooler..

Laters..

Have put in on both dietary and exercise fronts 100% plus and got off to a flyer..

SW : 112.1 Kgs
CW : 105.5 Kgs

Loss : 6.6 Kgs

I can barely believe it, I know that a chunk of this was down to 'beer evaporation' but I was 113.5 Kgs when I went to bed last Sunday night and I am exactly 8 Kgs lower this morning..

All the hard work has paid off in the first week but my second week is always tougher! Finding that extra motivation when the beer evaporation stops and the Kgs get harder to move, when the body aches and doesn't want to move any more, when your mates are having beers and you are sitting on the sideline 'hurt'!

Time to dig deep and with Australia Day long weekend up next it is going to be brutal..
