OK so I should be reasonably happy with my weight loss in the past five weeks and basically I am..

HOWEVER I have a few nagging doubts so I want to address them here.. My first is that for the very first time I've had trouble kicking the 100's and that worries me deeply..

Have been through my other threads from the past this morning and have reaffirmed the following landmarks :

Started Sept 2007 at 107 Kgs - basically smashed through the 100 Kgs barrier within a month and never looked back, nice steady and progressive losses right down to under 79 Kgs.. I remember stagnating a couple of times but it was in the lower 90s and 80s and once I'd got a substantial loss under my belt...

Then there seems to be a bit of a pattern with my losses.. By Aug 2010 I was back up just over the 100 Kg mark at 101 Kg having just come back from Japan.. I got back to 83 Kgs by Easter 2011 but early new year 2012 saw me back at 101 Kg after returning from the US. Can't say I really lost too much after this as my lowest recent wights have been 98 Kgs in Dec 2012 and 99.3 Kgs in May 2013..

In addition I've been 105.5 Kg after returning from NZ in Aug 2013 before peaking at 112.1 Kg after coming back from UK and SEA in Jan of this year..

I'm pretty lucky I can delve back to these weight changes as I've basically documented on here at least the periods of weight loss..

The pattern is of course my holidays, I just let myself go without any recourse it seems, only a couple of times whilst away I have consciously watched what I was intaking. I think that has to change so I'm working on a pleadge of sorts to myself.. I think it also has to incorporate never ever breaching this 100 Kg barrier ever again.. I can live with 90 Kgs, even mid 90's but anything over 100 Kgs just changes my mindset, I start to feel unhealthy, most of my clothes don't properly fit me and I look and feel absolutely bloated.. This has to stop..

At present I feel as though I should be in the zone and for all intents and purposes I am after five weeks but I'm not properly going to feel happy and pleased with myself and my progress until I'm sub 100 Kgs and in the meantime I want to formulate a plan of sorts *pledge* to stay under this barrier in the future..

Have thought about it and have a few ideas but until I'm actually under that barrier it's a bit pointless detailing them.. In the meantime have set a March 1st deadline to break into the 90's.. will see how that goes but it's a measure of the anxiety I am enduring with kicking the ton and more importantly seeing it off for good..

Hey JP, we can never compare to what it was like before. Things change and our bodies are constantly changing. I was the same as you, smashing through the kg's like a monster, at least 1kg a week, more than that usually but this time I have had to face a few losses on the 1kg mark which really does nothing for my emotions

I think the more often we do this, the harder it gets. Our bodies don't want to shed and gain and shed again constantly. I refuse to do this again, the older I get the harder it is going to be. This time has by far been the hardest, I cannot lose hope this time because I don't want it to be even harder next time.

I think that mentality helps. That push not to have to do it again. I haven't mastered holidays yet either, I usually just go all out and curse myself when I get home. I want this to change. When I'm on holidays, I want the energy to go hiking, wandering and enjoy my time away. I figure if I allow myself one free meal each day but the rest of the time be as healthy as possible, I won't feel deprived but I won't feel grose either.

Ahhh, the weight plays mind games with us sometimes  Keep moving forward JP, aim HIGH for that under 100kg mark, from there, I think you will be a lot better off mentally and ready to tackle the rest of this journey 8)

Thanks Shelley, its pyscologically just not good for me and especially when I see all the hard work I have put in recently and am still 4 Kgs above a milestone I was at as recently as May (99.5 Kgs) - and even that was only the supposed start!

Hitting my highest ever has stung me.. I can't pretend this will be the last time I'm losing weight either as I continue to make the same mistakes but at least I think l can put some safeguards into arresting the slides in the future and thats where my mind is at the moment, putting in proper foundations this time that won't see me put it all on again because you are right the older you get, the harder this is to start all over again.

Could write heaps on this but actions speak louder than words, having said that if I can get some kind of self made pledge written down I can at least start evaluating a set of guidlines that will hopefully help me never descend as far down as I have done this time around.

Being on this forum helps me too and that will be prominent within my pledge.. ALL my best losses have been whilst a regular here and holding myself accountable..

Feet are sore, blisters and practically fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.. Got my eye on the goal though.. Need a big effort to knock off my first 10 Kilo loss and then get under that 100 Kgs mark.. It's a pyschological battle I intend winning!

We sound very alike in our need to lose big to begin with. It gives me that inspiration to keep going, we see big results and it motivates us to want to get there. I agree, I'm sleeping very, very well right now! Probably too well

Every effort we make is all worth it in the end 8)
