Gaia_Girl's Journey

Postby Gaia_Girl » Thu Jan 11, 2007 11:20 pm

Here I go ... on my weight-loss journey which I now know I can achieve.

From advice received already, I am breaking my desired weight-loss down into easy chunks of 5% each. 6kgs doesn't look as scary as 60!

Full-on exercise is out for me at the moment because of my size so it'll be walking shoes, IPod and me out pounding the paths around home. Not having a car also makes it a little easier to get in 'incidental' exercise too.

And I pledge not to eat any more take-away junk food, no more home delivered pizzas and only eat the best of the best of chocolate if the craving hits.

My mind is telling me that I now have the right mind-set. My heart is telling me that I have it in me to achieve my goals.

Blessed Be

Sounds like a plan Gaia Girl!! I think getting things sorted in your mind is all part of succeeding!!

It doesn't matter if you can't do a lot of exercise to start with...building it up is the important thing and you will be surprised how quickly fitness builds up...no one expects you to be out running a marathon on your first day or week...

Well done for making your mind up Gaia Girl. We are all here to help you keep positive. Just start with baby steps mate. Challenge yourself every few weeks to go an extra 5 mins of walking etc. You'll find you have got up to a decent amount of time/speed with walking in no time at all.

Well done Gaia_girl you have some great plans there. Walking is excellent exercise. Forget the gym and expensive equipment, this is where it really starts. Outdoors walking with the smell of summer around you. Take it easy to begin with and build it up slowly and when you want a challenge increase the time or pace, but again do it slowly.

Even now I do the same thing with chocolate. I love orange flavoured chocolates so I don't tend to by kit kats or whatever and just buy my very favourite for nibbling at the weekends if I feel like it. This way I tend to have less and it really is a delish treat that I know I will enjoy rather than just a choccy fix.

Sounds like you do have your head in the right place.

First Update

Postby Gaia_Girl » Sun Jan 21, 2007 3:45 pm

It's been a couple of weeks and apart an initial hiccup getting started I'm fully focussed now ...

Have been walking a bit more, dancing around the house and having fun!

One thing I've started to do which I've never done before is to write up my week of meals so I know what I will be eating, etc. It'll be easier this way too to know what I have to prepare each day rather than heading to take-away or pre-prepared foods.

Goal for the next week or so ... spend more time on here to learn more!

Blessed Be
