The last few days have been hectic.. I haven't had time to scratch myself, nevermind anything else.
I'm still doing my swimming, but I haven't had time to squeeze anything else in, so I'm hoping it's enough.

meh.. it feels like the whole world is conspiring against my weightloss plans.
And to anybody out there that works in Big W - A POX on your house! .. Who's silly idea is it to load EVERY isle right next to the checkout with jumbo sized boxes of every chocolate imaginable!!!!???? Grrrr.

Next week I'm off again for 4 days on a roadtrip by myself (taking my Honda for a cruise).. so I'm going to find some fun exercisey-type stuff to do around the state. It's gonna be nice to get some time to myself. :)

Yolanda I used to work in Big W - they should have a lolly free aisle in every store.... and yeah a POX on them cause they are awful to work for.
Every day I am getting thinner and thinner.....

It's not just next to the checkout, lolly.. here there are 12ft shelves crammed with economy-sized toblerones and 1kg tubs of m&ms and threepacks of TimTams and HUGE boxes of cadbury's and quality street.. Then they've started bringing in all the easter eggs and chocolate rabbits etc on top of that..
It's beyond a joke. Chocolate as far as the eye can see.

Wow.. this is so awesome to find after all this time. .. Hello again everybody!

So I hovered quite happily around the mid 80's (kgs) for a few years.. then 18 months ago I quit smoking and my weight has just piled on since - I'm currently at 113.2kgs, which is pretty disheartening. If I think honestly about it though, I would much rather be a fatter non-smoker than a thinner smoker. .. Today the notion occured to me in the shower that, hey, why can't I be both?

With the weight gain I've worn an associated depression - feeling frumpy and fat and consoling myself with long episodes spent in bed with all my favourite books - Which, of course, does nothing to actually help.
Reading my posts here from 2007 tonight has really given me warm fuzzies though - To remind myself that the only person who can do anything about me is me.
I havent been swimming for ages.. and I'm reminded of how much I used to love it. .. And thanks to the awesome innovation of waterproof ipod baggies, I can listen to audio books while I do it! Heaven!

So now I'm off to get a new ticker for my signature and resolved to resume my swimming career again in the morning.
Just having actively made the decision to do something about my wieght feels great.

I am a newbie to this forum but found your diary very inspiring. If you can find that motivation this time than you are well on your way to shifting those kilos!

I too stacked on the kgs after i quite smoking! The silver lining is that I dont feel so guilty buying weightloss related stuff, as I reason it comes out of all the money ive saved from not smoking

I hope your going well this time around :)
