Dee's progress

Postby Dee » Thu Mar 08, 2007 4:58 pm

I thought that I'd take the time to set up a Personal Progress thread - more for my benefit than yours, really. I thought it would be good to be able to look back across this when I'm feeling low and need a bit of motivation to keep going. You know - sot of, "you've come through this before, you can get through it now"
So here goes,
Well, I've had a bit of a downer earlier this week with sudden unexplained weight gain, but I'm feeling really good now.

Had to do some groceries today and ran into one of Dane's old kinder teachers who said - "Gee you look great - what have you been doing?" I just can't get enough of comments like that, and it really made me feel great about the progress I HAVE made, rather than bemoaning the small overnight increase earlier this week.

Looking at my ticker it's hard to believe that I actually HAVE lost 10kgs, I still can't see it, but I'm going to focus on that figure as something to really stay excited about.

Hi Dee. Congrats on the stellar job you've done so far. Compliments are wonderful. We can be so down and negative on ourselves for a small slip up or an unintential or unexplained weight gain and stop focussing on all the hard and positive work we've done, so it's nice to have someone put it back into perspective for you. Glad to hear you're looking up again :D
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...

SO so excited today!!

Not only did I finally get my period - thus justifying the sudden unexpected weight gain - but I am down to 123.9!!!!

No more daily weighing- I'm confident that I am on track and my challenge for this week is to not hop on the scales until next Wednesday. That's feeling like a long way away right now :)

Thank you all for supporting me through this hurdle - this really is the greatest support network I've ever had.

I know, normally I hate TTOM - damn pains and discomfort. First time ever that I have celebrated TTOM!

Stupid stupid me!

I was doing pretty well today; had some friends over for a Labour day BBQ and stuck to chicken shaslicks and salad, then blew it all on a damned roast for dinner that I didn't even want! Now I feel all greasy and gross... Serves me right, really.

Moving right along - I promise to myself that I will not eat crap tomorrow. I'm not dwelling, but I did want to record this, confession's good for the soul, and perhaps it will make me think twice next time.

Umm one question from a dumb Queenslander.......what the heck are chicken shaslicks?? Is that like a skewer or something?? :o Geez I don't even know when Qld's Labour Day is....... :)
