I have a new hobby

Postby Juddy » Sun Jan 06, 2008 3:32 pm

I've been cooking pretty simple foods while on a diet - eggs, steak, chicken breast fillet, stir fry, broccoli, brown rice...

But I started getting bored!

My sister always has Jamie Oliver playing on TV, so I end up watching without a choice in the matter.

I then watched No Reservations last night, and decided I'd get off my arse and try and make something more interesting.

I remember loving wagyu beef at a japanese restaurant, but it's expensive and hard to get, so I had a go at normal beef.

I played around with black pepper, rock salt, garlic... then made a side of mushrooms with garlic, rocksalt, and black pepper...

Having never really used black peppercorns before in a dish, I was in for a surprise when it came to eating it.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too garlicy and spicy, so I've had another crack at it today, and it actually tasted much better! So I'll keep playing around I guess.

I found myself enjoying the experience of cooking :D

I love cooking :D :D Ever since I started eating healthy, one of my favourite things to do is adapt recipes and make them healthier, and concoct new and interesting things :D It's great fun :)

How lucky for your future wife - a guy who knows how to cook more than beans on toast :P :P

True sometimes, San :P I'm a total kitchen Nazi so I'd have to be out of the house otherwise I would completely take over   I love to cook for other people, so I'm actually looking forward to finding a guy so I can cook for him and pack his work lunches etc etc
Oh man, did I just admit what I THINK I admitted?! Doh!!

Lol Em!

Joel and I both love cooking, and it's really nice to spend time together in the kitchen cooking up delicious healthy meals :)

Oh, and sometimes I pack his lunch. And I got a dinosaur cutter and one day I made him dinosaur sandwiches.. hehehe :)

I love cooking! Sometimes I wonder if thats good or bad for my weight-loss. On one hand it means I'm always eating healthy home-made food. On the other hand it means I'm always eating healthy home-made food! Portion control and will-power to stop munching away can be tricky when dinner is so yummy!

I am spoilt, and it has spoilt my waistline! My partner, Glenn, loves to cook. And does most of the cooking! A man that cooks is a find!!!
