Anyone been to Canada??

Postby ali76 » Wed Feb 06, 2008 10:13 am

Hi again!

My partner and I are doing a months long trip in June. We're spending on week in New York, one week in the south east of Canada, one in the south west of Canada then 3 days in LA and 4 days in Hawaii!

Just wondering if anyone's been to Canada and can recommend where to stay? EG if we stayed in Alberta, can we do day trips to Montreal and Toronto or is that like saying we'll stay in Melbourne and do day trips to Sydney and Adelaide?!?!

Thanks all!!

Canadaaaa is amazing! You definitely made a great choice in coming here.
If you stayed in Ottowa, I think you can make a day trip to Toronto. But not Montreal. Quebec is a great place especially if you want a more French experience. If you're into shopping and stuff, I'd reccommend you to go to Edmonton and visit West Edmonton Mall. I'm from Vancouver myself, and it is beautiful here with so much to see and do! You can also cross the border easily and drive a few hours down to Burlington and Bellingham in the USA. Lots of outlet malls on the way! Seattle is pretty close too. Vancouver Island is great as well. You get to do stuff like whale watching and eat yummy seafood if you're into things like that. Like JP1 said, Banff is a must go. Amazing scenery. If you're into national parks, Banff and Jasper are gorgeous. It's like another world. Whistler is another great destination. It's near Vancouver and you can drive there in a few hours, the 2010 Winter Olympics are going to be held there too! Just a random fact :P
I hope this helped and I hope you and your partner have a great time in Canada :]
