[quote="ali76"]Haha...I'm fine...I've made an appointment to see my GP cos the doctor I saw in the ER just didn't tell me anything! There's a gash on my foot that I'm not sure if I'm supposed just leave or put a disinfectant on...? How long do I need crutches? When can I go back to work..? quote]
Awww hun *hugs*
ER doctors are shocking!!!
2 years ago I broke a bone in my foot (long story short I had stress fractures in both feet but was naughty and ignored the pain and ended up completely breaking the bone in my right foot). I went to the ER cause I couldn't put any weight on my foot. They made me hop - yes hop - down to xray and hop back. The dr looked at the xray and said it showed nothing. I asked about the little crack in the bone and he said it was an old injury and that I had a soft tissue injury and would be right to start walking in 5 days.
So I started trying to walk and it was aggonising! I spoke to one of the Physio's at my work and they examined me and said it was definitely not a soft tissue injury and was most probably a bone fracture and told me to get back on crutches cause I might do serious damage if I keep trying to walk.
I went and saw a sport dr and they instantly saw the fracture and put me in a imobilising walking boot. I couldn't do any exercise for 6 months which was hell... not to mention the weight that I gained. grrr
So year ER dr's grrrr!!!!!
