If your interested in seeing some of my renovations...

Postby Puffer » Tue Oct 03, 2006 6:52 pm

We have finally finished the main bedroom (it's the first room in the house we have renovated) to a state that is ready to live in and I thought it would be nice to share some pictures. We had a bit of a kick up the bum because we have two 30-something male friends of my partners staying with us while they do some contracting work in Canberra (directional drilling) and we had to move into this room so they had somewhere to stay! We were sleeping in the second bedroom and the third bedroom is full of carpet waiting to be laid and other furniture waiting to find a home. I also needed my ensuite because I wasn't sharing a bathroom with two 30-something males  Now I just have to hope when I get back from Sydney all of that manly food and portion sizing doesn't ruin my diet!

The reno of this room involed the following:

New Carpet
Crack fixing (the house is double brick, rendered on the inside)
Painting
Reattaching roof to beam in one corner
New entry door
New doors on cupboard including constructing new supporting beam (the old doors were much smaller)
New shelves in one half of the cupboard
Painting cupboard (still to be done)

The bedroom originally looked like this, take note of the crack running from the window down through the corner. It was about 1.5cm wide.

Well now it looks like this:

Here is a shot showing the new (unpainted) doors on the cupboard... as you can see the cupboard painting still has some way to go

Might have to look into getting some curtains...
