What do you snack on?

Postby Carley » Thu Sep 23, 2010 12:14 pm

I thought maybe we could share our favourite snacks and perhaps get ideas of other people :)

I love veggie sticks and hummus. I also love fruit. Another one is raw nuts and sultanas.

I only allow myself to snack on fresh foods.

How about you. :)

I snack too much  I think I could write a thesis on snacks, I have become a bit anal about snacks and have set 100cal limit with them.
So here goes, love fruit, nuts(although I try to limit them), a forme or diet yoghurt, carrot celery and cucumber sticks with hommus, peas from the pod and fresh beans, a jarah hot choc, chick nuts, wasabi peas, and spicy broad beans (also limited to a handful), and when I want a chip-like snack two handfuls of delite rice crackers. Sugar free sweets -Mints,chewing gum and fruit drops.
In my handbag, I have a special k chocaletey bar and some eclipse mints.
My choc hits include funsize milkyway, a freddo or A Dark choc hit.
Then there is deserts.... diet choc mouse or creme caramels (My Saturday night treat).
Yep snacks, I've had a few

Well actually if I could I would snack instead of eating...
I love fruits, apples and orange are my favourite but in summer nothing beats a good wattermelon...hummmm almost can feel its taste now! Recently I have found a new love for raw carrots. And I have to confess I also love nuts and chips, but these treats are reserved for very very very special ocasions.

I've been pretty religious about snacking and have just basically cut it out.. works for me when I'm on a weight loss kick, I just stick to three straight meals and my daily walks..

im still searching for snacks, im changing my mindset away from the museli bars and chocolate.

I have found (though havent checked the nutrional information lately because i havent had for 2 weeks) that there are the fruit and yoghurt bars i think they are made by natural foods (i knew their see-through and pink... :( ) they taste yumm, and they kinda seem good but i wont say if they are until i get one.

anyone know something little i can keep on my desk at work, or some type of sweet biscuit or other food i can keep on my desk (those dam 3pm cravings!)

I try to avoid the snacking if possible, but if my stomach is screaming out for something I will choose the nut/dried fruit mix too, or maybe an apple.

Hi! I love snacks, it keeps my blood sugar at a constant level which prevents crazy insulin spikes that cause horrible bad moods and overeating throughout the day. This is what I have:

1 Rounded tbspn psyllium husk mixed with 1 scoop of soy protein and half a protein shaker which I sip continuously throughout the day.
OR
1 Mango
OR
5 Cups of coffees with soy milk evenly spaced throughout the day
OR
1 Apple and 1 Banana when necessary
OR
1 little can of tuna with a stick of carrot and a stick of celery
OR
1L of Black Tea

Doesn't work for everyone I know, but you'll find they're all pretty reasonable in terms of nutrients and caloric content...except the coffee and tea, they're just my vices.

"To those who do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a real feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty, of nature ... If you want to learn about nature, to appreciate nature, it is necessary to understand the language that she speaks in." - Richard Feynman

The best thing I snack for mid morning on is a small tin of tuna and a small tin of pineapple chucks I have read that eating these two foods together are benifical the pineapple breaks down the tuna so it digests easier.

I'm one of those people who have trouble with snacking unless its something preplanned, ie from LnE or something. Otherwise I underestimate how much I eat and overdo it :(

Bananas are one of my few snacking vices. The trouble is that I go overboard on them.

I can't wait until some bright company genetically engineers a banana that contain less than 50 or so kilojoules. Or maybe someone can do a fake one, like Quorn does fake chicken. :)
