Pizza is the Devil!

Postby ShanShan » Fri Sep 24, 2010 8:27 pm

I planned on having a small portion of leftover lasagne for dinner with a big salad...but... my dad came over at 6 baring pizzas. I had 4 slices as well as 2 pieces of garlic bread and a glass of coke. I feel so guilty. So I'm off to attempt to undo the damage on the elliptical. I have to do 50 minutes to undo the damage. HAHAHA. Oh god.

oh yes, but we cant order pizza, would be cold by the time they delivered. we make our own, woodfired outdoor pizza oven, so I can control what goes on mine :)

Pizza is the devil incarnate, I agree. I have taken to insisting any ordered pizza comes from a pizza chain called 'Crust'. They have a heart foundation tick approved menu which comes in a small 'portion controlled' size, with lower fat content, and on a thin wholemeal base. It means that I can eat the whole thing and not feel like little miss piggy. Also good for me as a vegetarian because they have three veg choices - pretty good odds when most pizza is a one way ticket on the meat train

Otherwise, I enjoy making pizza at home and using low fat fetta, baked pumpkin sprinkled with smoked paprika, spanish onion, and baby spinach. The kicker is that I use a wholemeal pita bread base. It's pretty fricken' yum, and even the pizza mad boy manages to eat it without whinging too much

Crust pizzas are the best. Hubby and I love them! We had our usual half peri peri & half philly steak with the basil and sweet chilli starter on friday night (our free day). We couldnt eat it all, so in the future we will be skipping the starter.

coles have 3 pizzas for $10 lately... i must have had at least 17 in the past month? They're fantastic =) I do cut half the depth of the base off though... seems like empty carbs to me. $1.60 meals (half pizza for lunch, half for dinner) and pizza really can't be that bad =)
