Music to lose weight by

Postby brendan » Mon Nov 15, 2010 6:07 pm

I guess many of us like to have music going in the background as we burn them calories.
Personally, I like having 70 and 80s Disco music raging in my ears with songs like "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going", "Gonna Fly Now" (theme from Rocky) and "TSOP" (the sound of Philadelphia). It's an irony really because the first time round I couldn't stand disco. Throw in songs like "Hold Your Head Up," any number of songs from Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Slade and Suzie Quatro and you would have my album of "Songs To Lose Weight By"
Of course many of the songs were distant memories by the time many of you were born  , but I wonder if there are songs with a similar beat, or 'earthyness' that you like to exercise to.

Haha I always listen to pop music at the gym- the sillier the better! I love running to Kesha and the Pussycat Dolls- it just makes it so much fun.

My exercise is the exercise bike for now, so besides music I listen to the news or watch TV. Despite the distraction I do keep one eye on the display to make sure I am not slacking off too much.

I got on the exercise stationary bike yesterday, popped in my earphones and listened to Linkin Park's album A Thousand Suns.. It's a bit of a distraction listening to that then concentrating on peddling lol.. makes time go a lot faster than just staring into thin air.. lol

What inspires me:
"hehe" some of these are cringe worthy, heck they do the job

- Footlose the sound track
- Britnay Spears (before breakdown)
- 80's disco music.

But anything with a good fast dance beat gets me going.

Some good choices there ToGlow

Something about that disco beat, isn't there?
