You know, reading through everyone's replies I'm a little surprised at all the sweets and chips, purely because I never crave those things myself. So looking at a few I was thinking 'really? How interesting!' Don't get me wrong, I love my sweets, especially cake, but rarely eat them unless I make them myself and I guess because that sometimes takes so much effort - it seems like to much work sometimes. The cravings I tend to get are for two things: Pizza and Popcorn. By which I mean bad popcorn, either from the cinema or in the microwave, not the well behaved air popped popcorn that if i could manage to stick to would surely earn me a little halo lol

Oh, and coffee and coca cola. These are my biggest hurdles because I just really struggle to go without them. Though I'm not sure that they count as a 'craving' or 'slight addiction' =/

Had a huge craving for those darn potato chips, but wait, it's not potato chips anymore, it's twisties. Yes, I gorged into the whole packet and as usual felt guilty straight afterwards.
But to justify it I have walked nearly 5klms this morning. Doesn't make any difference I know, I should never have eaten them. Here's to no more cravings, (this week).

Oh, God -- fried food, chicken fried steak, fish & chips, SE Asian fried bananas with honey, gravy, all that awful stuff. I don't get cravings for sweets so much, so when I do it's usually safe to indulge. But I have to stay away from the grease. Something primitive in me wants lots of fat. And salt. Oh, and ice cream, that's the only sweet thing I have to be careful about. Especially something really rich and chocolate with goodies in it. You know, I'm not sure this thread was a good idea . . .

I usually crave for chocolate cake and a frappe from Starbucks. These cravings never fail to visit me at least once a week. Though I try my best to resist, i still give in. :cry:

When I'm strict with my LCHF way of eating I never crave anything. It is an amazing thing to experience total control over what you do or do not want to eat.

However, when I occasionally fall of that wagon I crave sweets with chocolate big time, in fact it's like I can't say no to them. I won't even be hungry but if the Mr is eating chocolate all I can think about is "I WANT THAT CHOCOLATE!!!" And there is this bakery, thankful not near us but a nice Sunday drive away that sells the most delightful pain au chocolat that I get terrible cravings for.... droool

Surprisingly, nothing at all.

I am doing the WW points plan, which someone else mentioned that it doesn't limit you to any food at all, but that being said, I never feel like chips or sweets. I can go food shopping and not buy a chocolate bar, despite how much they are on special.

I can now go to a bakery and not want a pie or sausage roll, or even a caramel tart, but I go for the salad rolls and bottle of water.

I limit myself to coke zero, and no more than one per day. I also don't exceed one coffee per day.

I never fail to crave for chocolate cake. Do you think it's just fine to have a slice or two every weekend? I don't want to deprive myself of this very sumptuous and sinful pleasure... Guilty pleasure, it is. :D

Maccas cheeseburgers, custard, chicken Kiev, hot chips drowned in chicken salt, tea oh and yummy cheeses

For sweet things I succumbed and brought some fudge I slice off a tiny bit and let it melt on my tongue 2mm thick. It counts right?

Hi, I'm a hypnotherapist.
When it comes to cravings, during the 5 minutes just before going to sleep, rate your cravings from 1 - 10 for that day. Then until you fall asleep tell yourself that while you sleep your cravings will get less and less and the following day they'll only be at 3,4? 5?.....(reduce it by 2 or 3 - whatever is do-able). Try to picture the number (Maybe like a dial turning down? Or writing it on a black board).... As soon as you wake, for a few minutes, tell yourself that, "Today, the cravings ARE really low... This is a good day...." Try to keep things in the present tense... not in the future tense...." Don't beat up on yourself if things don't pan out exactly as you want. Move on quickly and congratulate yourself for your GOOD efforts.... even if there are only a few good efforts.
Try to make the new number realistic and then practise it every night before sleep & each day... then turn it down a bit more when you think/feel you're ready.
Also, keep in mind, that if you give up sugar or salt for 1 to 2 (3?) months, if you went back to the original level you consume of those 2, you'll find them pretty disgusting.
Will find some good links to post re how blood sugar balance is important in order to avoid cravings.... but got to go for now. If anyone could do a quick survey as part of my business studies, I'd be very grateful.

My craving is always after dinner time when Im sitting on the lounge with the kids watching TV ... CHOCOLATE!!!!

So to help with the cravings I make up little portions of diet jelly so when im sitting on the lounge craving it, I have a little diet jelly.

I wasn't really craving anything but now that I've read people's responses to this I'm craving everything! Ha :(

Pringles salt and vinegar chips with hoummus, custard, chocolate (I love cadbury family size blocks, snickers bars and peanut m & ms), big macs, fries, wedges with sweet chilli sauce and sour cream, PIZZA, potato gems, chips and gravy, peanut butter, nutella, fresh white bread from the bakery with lots of butter, cupcakes etc etc.
