Well, I'm in the fortunate position that my hobby is my job. Love the art of magic and love exploring it's many aspects.

Enjoy reading...have a room in the house called the library but could get enough shelving in there. Started moving most of the books into the double garage...should do - for now. Great fan of Dorothy L Sayers. Someone once wrote there are two sorts of people who are into detective fiction; those that enjoy any detective novel and Dorothy L Sayers fans. They are certainly not the same things! Love reading biographies and the such. Greatly enjoy reading theology particular in the areas of apologetics and cults.

Enjoy going to church...sounds mad to most but it really is fun.

Enjoy good solitary forms of exercise. Love watching a good dvd while on the exercise bike. Greatly enjoy a run at midnight with the ipod plugged in. Nothing beats a good soaking at the local pool doing laps. Walking with wife and daughter on hot summer nights is cool too.

Love drawing and being creative. Recently got into steampunk and made myself some cool googles out of bits and pieces (essential steampunk gear).

All the family love op shopping. The idea of a great family outings is seeing how many op shops we can hit in a day.

Doing the daily jumble word in the paper and having a cappuccino is definitely one of life's pleasures at the moment.

...and hanging out here! :D

I like to fossick for gold and gems and coins. For the gold and gems I'll head off into the areas in the mountains a few hours drive north-west of my home. For gold I use pans to test the area and a hand-run concentrator to process dirt. For gems I'll use sieves and the concentrator. For coins and other metal artifacts I use a metal detector. It's not for the lure of treasure, more that the acts of shovelling dirt, splashing about in ice-cold crystal clear rivers, dodging snakes, flicking off leeches and shifting boulders are all therapeutic in some way.

The link below is to the photo album for my most recent trip. There will be links to my other trip albums there, as well.

Several times each week I enjoy walking the many kilometres of shared walking paths/cycleways our city has winding their way along former railway lines, along the lake shore, through national parks, and so on.

Hey Marc do you tumble and polish your gem stones?
I use to do that in my youth...when electricity was a lot cheaper than what it is now! :D

Think I've detailed a lot of what I do to have fun, ranges from beers with my mates through to adventure holidays with my kids.. A lot of what else I do isn't necessarily always 'fun' for example following my football team is far from fun, it's more a pastime.. Jet skiing is mostly fun though been in a couple of predicaments where this pastime has turned nasty.. Read quite a bit from time to time, relax listening to music but spending time generally with my kids is my greatest outlet of having fun..
