Four Years Down...

Postby Blitz » Thu Feb 25, 2016 2:00 pm

Four years ago yesterday was the day that I finally reached my goal weight and moved to my maintenance stage.
On the 1st of January 2011 I embarked on the adventure to lose 87 kilos off my then 153.7kg frame.
Exactly 60 weeks late, on the 24th of February I stepped on the scales and weighed in at 66.6kg.

Since then it has been an interesting ride.
Life goes on - and many things get thrown at you.
Many "reasons" to give up and let the old lifestyle slip back in.

But success on continuing to keep the weight off is very much dependent on keeping the head in the right frame.
Not losing sight on way you started this journey in the first place.
Not taking this new gift of a better life for granted.
Continuing to understand that the benefits outweigh the costs.

Four years down...now working on the fifth one!

The highest weight I've been was 71 kilos exactly. It was a tough patch at the time.
I like to sit between 67kg and 70kg. Usually more towards the 69kg.
Needless to say that I got it down pretty quickly when I hit that 71kg (next day was 70.1kg and the day after 69.6kg).
That period was hard as it was the lead up to my Mum's death.
Getting the lifestyle/exercise together was difficult as the routine was out the window at the time.
Nevertheless it can be done and I reined it back in pronto when it started slipping.
