hey guys just letting you know my brother brought me symply too good number 1 for xmas with another womans weekly slim foods recipe book (that has gross stuff in it though). can anyone recommend anything from the first edition that they really enjoyeD?

your lucky kate i havent got that one but have 3/4and 5 and they are great now i just gotta learn to cook lol

I have a friend with all of these cookbooks and she never seemed to go wrong with the recipes, then she left me and moved to Nth QLD :(

My sister does have them all but has not mentioned how the recipes have gone for her, but I did notice when I was there today, that she had them out and there were lots of dogeared pages.

I would try cooking some stuff that has lots of things in it you like iykwim.
Every day I am getting thinner and thinner.....

Ok you got me...it was bugging me so here are all the ones I have cooked out of book 1 and what we thought about them:

Minestrone soup - yum

Caesar Salad - yum

Stuffed Potatoes - oh yum

Zucchini Slice - yum

Vegetable Fried Rice - Yum yum

Tuna Mornay - yum

Marinated Drumsticks - yum

Mango Chicken - yum

Chicken A La Queen - yum

Chicken in a Hurry - yum and yes excellent for quickie

Chicken Pizziola - oh very yum

Mild Sweet curry - yummy

Indian curry - ahh um yeah it was ok

Curried Cabbage - yum but farty :shock:

Basic bolognaise sauce - yum but prefer my own

Beef Italian - very nice

Mango Meringue Pie - Oh crap to die for yum (but I cut the sugar down)

Creamy Sweet Dip With Fruit Platter - really nice and great to serve to dinner guests!!

Apple Strudel - yum

Peach Sponge - nice but watch how you beat it

Festive Ice cream pudding - very nice with some extra added brandy :wink:

Wine Trifle - oooohh yum

Carrot Cake - very nice

Jaffa Cake - yum

Chocolate loaf cake - yum

Date loaf - yum

Banana Cake - oooh yum

Moist Fruit Cake - bloody excellent!

Lemon Jelly Slice - really nice

Apple Tea Cake - another bottler for guests on a morning/afternoon tea!!!

There you go matey as you can see I have probably cooked half the book, but they are tried and tested and very nice indeed....happy cooking!!!
