id say a tankini (singlet style swimming top with bkini style bottoms) and then some board shorts to go on the top :) thats what i wear. depending on your thighs though you could get the shorter style board shorts but i keep to the knee length. have fun in cairns my sister lives there and id love to go just the flights are so expensive!! argh! let us knwo waht you choose!

Oh no, the dreaded bathers shopping! I think the boy shorts/tankini options sounds good. Sarongs are really great as well as you can wear them any way you like (if you are skilled  )

Have a great time in Cairns :D I lived there for a few months while in the Navy, so if you want advice on touristy things to do just ask. I did them all! Oh, apart from the aboriginal culture park, next to the skyrail, didn't get there :(

Go the boardies with a cute matching tank. I have the same cellulite issues and i run around in the shorts without being selfconcious at all :D

Yeah I go a tankini with board shorts when I am swimming in public. When I am swimming here with no visitors I go the bikini top and boy leg bikini bottoms because nobody will see the fat bits and it's much easier to swim in.

Image um my stretch marks and bubby tummy arent lookin too good lol. i dont think my bikinis will ever see the light of day again! haha.

also i should recommend getting printed swimming costumes its more flattering than a matt flat colour.

My Main Problem areas: Thighs and Butt

My Bikini: Boy Leg Bottoms (i love boy leg even get my undies in boy leg!)

Top: A Flattering Halter Neck.

My advice: Get a top that flatters your chest that way the guys wont be able to take their focus off that so you wont have to worry about a bit of extra weight elsewhere ;)

I actually bought myself my first ever bikini for New Years. And I've worn it. In public. Not as bad as anticipated. Looking forward to a possible trip to Brisvegas (Brisbane) to try it out on a beach that doesn't have icebergs running aground on the shore (well ok, maybe a slight exaggeration).

I would recommend the 2 piece that has the siglety bit and the shorts.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).

i went to the beach last weekend and here i was with boardies, my tankini and i had a tank top over the top of that and i felt naked! and i was self conscious but there are soooo many people at the beach who dont care WHAT they look like- sometimes i think they should cover up a bit especially this woman who was running around topless with her kid who was about 7 or 8 years old. it wasnt a nudist beach and there were thousands of people there. even if she is comfortable im sure there would have been a lot of people who were uncomfortable!
