A Hot and Balmy Night!

Postby Ally » Thu Jan 11, 2007 8:36 pm

eeeeuuuwwww here I sit guzzling down my 6th 1.25L bottle of water!! Oh boy we have gone from really pleasant days and cool nights (unheard of in Rocky in Summer) to having 37* day time temps to 24* overnight with high humidity and no bloody rain in sight!!! Shite!!! I have just had a cold shower and am sitting here sweating!!! It is horrible and gross.....What is that Phil Collins song...ooh yeah I wish it would rain down, down on me!!! Bring it on!!!!!

Sorry peoples that is my gripe!!

I hear ya Ally!

IT was an absolute awful hot and humid day in brissie as well. Could by partly why I got an awful migrane today.

I drank lots of water too but not as much as you - that's a lot but understandable when it's an awfully humid day. Just cooking dinner I couldn't stop sweating and I was just melting trying to eat dinner. Our house felt like a hot box so it was probabl hotter insde than out.!

I would definately say we've been having weird weather lately. It's like it can't make up it's mind!! hehe  December wasn't even that bad, with some cool mornings and lately we've been lucky to get some rain but now it's started getting hotter an muggier.

Are you guys in drought mode there as well?

I wish the rain we've been getting in this past week would just rain right over the dam, where we need it and over the farmers lands to help them out as well.

I hate the hot/muggy weather as well!

Try and stay coool 8) Hope the weather up there cools down soon for you.

Yeah I cant stand hot weather. My downfall is Im still not drinking as much water as I should be. I too am getting headaches but its prob becuase Im dehydrated and not drinking enough! The good thing is inside my place isn't too bad. Also because I didn't cook tonight. Whenever its hot I refuse to cook. Its either a bbq outside or a salad.

It's 1.20am Friday morning and I'm still stinking hot. 38 degrees today ... yuk!

Had severe heatstroke - migraine, nausea, vomitting. Drinking heaps of water. Suspect I've lost a bit of weight simply by not being able to keep anything down ... LOL

I can fully sympathise with anyone suffering from this current heatwave. I wish I was back on holidays in Tassie

Blessed By

very hot down here on the central coast too and its suppose to be another scorcher today. i was thinking they should invent a blanket/underlay for beds that is a cooling device as opposed to an electrice blanket- i just tossed and turned all night long :(

BM - we are in drought mode here :S

Blimey it must be all up and down the eastern coast then!! Had a look at the weather radar last night and if that cloud band is moving towards us all we could be in for nice rain!! here is hoping!! BM we are not in drought in Rocky, but the farmers out west are now facing their 7th year of severe drought.

Ah yes, the warm days and warm nights. I'm probably going to be unpopular by saying this......but I love them. When we lived up in Kununurra (as far north in WA as you can go), the weather was like that constantly too and I thrived in it! I have always been a Perth girl and struggled terribly with the winter temperatures (I have bad circulation and really feel the cold).

Perth's weather has been strange lately too...it hasn't warmed up yet and I'm hating that! This weekend is supposed to be a warm one - 37 - 40 degress on sat and Sunday I think but the last few days have been really cool and rainy. We were sitting on the verandah of my parents-in-law's house on Wednesday night and this huge cold front came rolling in......we could see our breath when we were talking it got that cold. We think it was about 5 degrees then and I hated it!!!

Hope all you guys who don't like the heat, get some relief from it soon.

It's been hot and horrid down here too. We had our second hottest night on record on Wednesday night - the thermomenter outseide our house didn't get below 29 all night.
YUCK!

Can't wait for the weather to cool down outside a bit - being stuck inside is making it hard to stay away from the cupboard!

Nah Hayley you won't be unpopular for saying that at all mate!! I always say each to their own!! I don't mind the hot days it is just the humidity that annoys me.....you can't get cool everything you touch is hot and sweat just pours out of you like there is no tomorrow!!! I think we are in for some big storms over the next few days!!

I would move to the Antarctic in a heartbeat, I hate anything above 30 and the humidity give me winter anyday.

Not looking forward to the next couple of days, tomorrow is going to be 37 and 40 on Tuesday. :(

DH has gone away fishing again and won't be back till Wednesday leaving me to do all the work again and in this heat. :x
