I GOT IN!!!

Postby Leenie » Tue Jan 16, 2007 8:07 am

found out late last night that i got into nursing at acu in ballarat, i'm absolutely stoked and haven't stopped since i found out (i was driving when i found out, which was interesting). i went down to the pub where i work late last night because there was no way i was going to be able to sleep, and it was great because i was drinking for free (i only had four) and they put the jukebox on for free for me and everything, i want to get into uni more often!!
i'm still buzzing it's fantastic!!

Congrats! Its such a rewarding feeling knowing your hard work has paid off. I have a few friends that are nurses - and they had a ball at uni. You will have a great time.

Well done!!!!!!! thats so fantastic!!

I finished my nursing degree at the QLD University of Technology end of last year, and i am doing a graduate nuse program at a local hospital, starting in 2 weeks!!! I am working in the respiratory ward to start with, and i get to experience working in each ward every few months.

believe me, nursing is just so awesome, and uni is so much fun. And even though it can be difficult at times, it is so worth it!

If you ever need to talk to someone or have questions from someone who has just been through it, im here!

good luck with everything!!!

Jess!

thanks everyone, iam so excited about this, i have dreamt of it for years and now it is finally happening.

can i just ask for the nurses on here, what super fund do you use? the job that i have just started at (cleaning) requires me to have a superfund and my boss said that instead of using the hospitality one that they do, they want to put in into a nursing superfund so that i dont have lots of different funds. problem is, i have no idea about superfunds and need advice

im not sure either hey. my clinical facilitator as a student was real good with finances, and has given me heaps of advice on stuf, but im not sure about my super. i think its different in each state, like QLD health will have a selected super fund, and i can change if i want to.

it might be an idea to look for some advice online- there are plenty of superfund websites u can look up.

Also, in case you dont know, you can join the Royal Collage Of Nursing Australia as a student. this is like a union for nurses, but much much better. and you are covered for over $1Million in case you do something wrong. its well worth having it.
