Silly sizing

Postby electrongirl » Sat Feb 17, 2007 7:35 am

I have been wearing size 18 pants to work for a while and since i have lost a little weight they have gotten really loose on my, to the point that if I tugger them slightly, they would fall down.

So I go to the 16's I bought at the same time when they were on sale and what do you know. They are way too small!!

These are the exact same pants, same colour and everything. They are from Target.

How is it that 18 is way too big and a 16 is way too small!!

I am going to have to take in the 18's myself until I lose enough to fit into the 16's....

so mad!

They reckon on average it is about 6kg between dress sizes....but it does seem strange that one is way too big and the other is too small.....don't let it get you down!! Stick at it and those 16's will be fitting you in no time!!

We have just had the same problem in K-Mart with the mens clothing. Hubby2b was looking at new shorts and in 1 colour the size fitted perfectly, then tried another colour and the same size was too small. Then, tried the same colour again in that size and that one fitted. :?

Ally's right, don't let it get you down, maybe it was just a reject... the buttons might be slightly out, or they might have even put the wrong tag on it - and its actually a 14?? Just remember how good you feel because the 18s are too big :D You must be doing something right!

For my double digits treat i went shopping and got some new jeans from jeans west, i tried on the 18 and they fit but were a bit baggy in the legs, so i bought the 16 and figured ide fit into them soon.
I tried them on last night and there seems to be a big difference between sizes! but its good motivation :) i remember trying the same style on just before xmas and the 20 was a bit too small so ive nearly gone down 2 sizes in around 2 months. They will fit u in no time, and it will feel soo good once u realise u fit into them and see how much u really have lost.

it sucks though because the 18's look ridiculous and I work in an office and they are dragging on the floor...

stupid sizing

Yup, I was a size 13 in jeans for ages before I lost more weight and now they hang off me haha, haven't tried on jeans for ages so hopefully I can fit into a 12!! I always had to get my jeans from Jeans West. Just as well I prefer their jeans anyway :P

I'm having the exact same problem with my target 3/4 jeans at the moment. I walk around all day pulling them up and it''s so annoying, but not as annoying as being fat enough to fit them!!!!!!!

Since losing weight I found the same problem. I used to be a 24 - 26 and now I find that I can wear anything between an 18 and a 22.

Sometimes style can play a big part, I love Rivers t-shirts, and some styles I am an 18 in and in others I need a 22.

I find that if I just run them up myself (when I find some time) I don't have a fitting problem.

It seems its across the board in Targets sizing!!

I grabbed a heap of 18's & 16's pants in different style and all the 18's were loose and all the 16's were way too tight!!

maybe they use a different sizing chart after size 16??

They possibly could Nikki. 18 and above are usually counted as "larger sizes" and 8 - 16 are the "normal range. Just keep going the way you are and those pants will fit yet.

The only reason I care about Targets sizing is I get my work clothes from there.

They have pants that are exactly like our uniform... only cheaper!!
