Hey guys, I haven't been on much as I broke my right upper arm last week and typing left handed is a challenge!!!

So, no work and no driving for six weeks. I can't look after my youngest as she is still in nappies and I have no way of changing her. I'm very bored, so ideas to keep my mind occupied would be appreciated!!!

I will get there by the last day of 2007!!!

aw that would be so painful how did u break it? my sister had a broken arm too ags ago which she said happened when she fell over but her husband actually bashed her and broke it for her! but she has a toddler too and found it hard as well as having a 8 year old. she would read when she got the chance, and do puzzles in the magazines, watch dvds etc. but as u would know with a little one its pretty full on and everything she would do would take twice as long because of her arm. i hope u feel better soon and have lots of helpers at home :)

I'm a big believer in fate -- maybe you broke your arm to slow you down because you need and deserve a break -- so enjoy it! :P Could've been that the universe intervened and tripped you up. Have you been wishing for a break? (no pun intended)

Maybe you will discover some unique skill or interest while you're partially incapacitated. Who knows!?!

I don't know what I'd do with time on my hands. Probably waste it watching DVDs, reading, surfing the internet and just pottering around my house.

OMG are you psychic????? Yep, the break is welcome but the boredom isn't. Been watching plenty of trashy TV.

seeing specialist next week, so it will be good to get another x-ray to check healing.

which movie to watch tonight, i wonder.....

LOL - No, not psychic, but have spent the past few years getting in tune with the universe and rather than getting frustrated when things don't go my way, take that as a cue from the universe that things weren't meant to be that way or it's sign posting something i need to pay attention to ... and sure enough, another door always opens. When you're on the right path, it just feels right.

I'm sure you're aware of the saying, 'Be careful what you wish for...'? The universe is always listening and only too happy to deliver what you most want, but you have to be specific. So next time you need a break, tell the universe you need a rest, but one that doesn't involve pain, suffering, ill health, financial woes etc.

So I will never say "universe, I want to lose ten kilos" cos then I'll probably have a car accident and have my leg cut amputated... instead, I'll say "universe, give the motivation and strength to change my unhealthy lifestyle and to get active and eat well". Voila :D

If you get anything out of this experience it will be that you don't want to be bored and that getting the break/rest you need and deserve doesn't have to be 100% of doing nothing, but instead, you just slow down for a bit, ask for some help and not wait til you fall in a heap (or have an accident!)

Hope all goes well at the specialist next week. Let us know if you do get to watch any good movies :P

I enjoyed it too. I am a huge fan of Thomas Harris books, and it is nice to see the characters come to life on the big screen. :D
