hey everyone :) just wanted to wish all the mums out there a very happy mother's day. we all deserve to have a great day on sunday and even though we are recognised throughout the year for our position as the mother of our children, i think its great to have a day where we can reflect on the years :) this is my second year as a mum for mothers day :) and i hope you all celebrate having wonderful mothers as well :) dont know what id do without my mum, she is just around the corner from us and we are very close :) have a great day everyone and below is a list i found on ninemsn.com.au which i thought was a cute read!

50 things your mother taught you
This Mother's Day, we celebrate the good — and the bad — things that we've learned from our mothers.

1. Never talk to strangers.
2. Always wear clean underwear just in case you get hit by a bus.
3. Clean your teeth before you go to bed.
4. A little black dress is a wardrobe must.
5. Don't talk with your mouth full.
6. Never walk home after dark.
7. Get up before 7am — otherwise you'll miss the best part of the day.
8. Never trust people with thin lips.
9. Always smell the milk before using it to check if it's off.
10. Leaving the house in unironed clothes is slovenly.
11. Don't pull faces — if the wind changes direction, you'll stay like that forever.
12. When you're sick, you must eat Jatz biscuits and lemonade.
13. Never answer back.
14. Bread crusts make your hair curly.
15. There's no use taking your shoes off when sneaking in late at night — mums hear everything.
16. Playing music too loud will give you hearing problems later in life.
17. Sitting too close to the television will make your eyes square.
18. You'll always be beautiful to her.
19. Never take no for an answer, unless it's coming from your mother.
20. If you don't cover your chest, you'll catch pneumonia.
21. When the wooden spoon comes out, it's time to hide.
22. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, as long as you tried your best.
23. There really is such a thing as mother's instinct.
24. Always lock your car doors.
25. It is possible to grow old gracefully.
26. Always take a jumper, because it might get cold.
27. Rely on your gut feeling — it's always correct.
28. Don't run with scissors.
29. If you use Liquid Paper to cover up scratches on the new car, you will get caught.
30. A nice cup of tea calms your nerves.
31. If Mum kisses it, it makes it all better.
32. There's nothing better than a bit of spit dabbed on a tissue to remove that dirt on your face.
33. French onion soup mix and sour cream make the perfect dip.
34. There's nothing better than Mum's home cooking.
35. Mum can tell when you're lying because your ears wiggle.
36. Bleach gets rid of every stain.
37. Home-grown vegetables taste better.
38. Fresh flowers always brighten your day.
39. A girl should always wear lipstick, but not too much.
40. There is absolutely nothing you can do to cover up the smell of cigarettes.
41. Mothers always end up looking after the household pet.
42. Lollies rot your teeth.
43. Don't sit on the cold concrete — you'll get piles.
44. Hearing your mum slowly count to three instils fear.
45. If you can't do it with a smile on your face, don't do it at all.
46. Boyfriends are never worth the heartache.
47. If you don't eat your carrots, you'll go blind.
48. Mothers will support you through the good and the bad.
49. You'll always be her baby, even when you're nearing retirement.
50. Mothers know best.

WA is a long way from Sydney Kate so SA is about half way and not so far for her to come. Sadly my son didn't come to the BBQ but he did drop in to wish me a Happy Mothers Day though.

Glad you had a good Kay

Thanks Pam, yes she is growing up now she is 7. Hope you had a great day with your family too.
