What chocolate DON'T you like!?

Postby zeedeveelgirl » Mon Jun 04, 2007 10:21 pm

I was thinking just before, that there really isn't any chocolate that I really don't like, apart from the really dark stuff (anything above 65% cocoa). I can't think of a chocolate bar that I don't like!!!

What kind of chocolate/chocolate bar don't you all like?

The only choc I don't like is any that involves marzipan. eeew! People come into my sister's chocolate shop and pick up great slabs of the stuff. Eeew!

I tried for the first time the other day a Hershey bar. Was the most horrid taste ever. Mind you i ate half the bar over 2 days just to make sure i was right in not liking it. The after taste is foul! I almost wished all chocolate tasted like that at the moment! Then i would stay away from it.

I told an American friend how much i hated the taste. She thought i was off my rocker. But still have half the thing sitting here and won't eat it. First time ever chocolate will go uneatten in this house. Even my parents tried some and didn't like it.

**I can and WILL do this**

I don't like chocolates that are not name brands.
They seem to have higher fat and not enough cocoa or salt so they taste sweeter.
They can often be bought in stores like crazy clarkes or red dot or at easter time
you might see them when the chocolate easter eggs come out of the woodwork.

I'm hard pressed to think of a chocolate bar/flavour I don't like. Not a huge fan of white chocolate (but that's not really chocolate anyway). The only thing I will turn my nose up at (unless I'm really desperate) is cheap chocolate. You know that grainy, plasticky tasing stuff, like what Dolly described that you get in cheapo shops, and they come out in droves at easter (Red Tulip springs to mind but they are at the top of the pile, there are worse, but I don't know their names, i'm too busy running the other way).

Cadbury's are the cheapest brand I will do out of choice and I prefer it darker (flake noir is their best, oh and the old gold rum and raisin I think is theirs too). I like Lindt and I LOOOOOVE the chocolates from a little shop in Salamanca that sells handmade chocolates, ground coffee, tea and kickass little kitchenwares. it's called Norman and Dann. If anyone is near Hobart I recommend highly. They are not scoffing chocolates though, they are nibble and savour chocoaltes and priced to match.

My fave flavours, in no order
fruit and nut
anything with caramel (runny and chewy - think Curly Wurly, cobbers, caramello, time out)
black forest (yummo - my best buddy and I found we were the only people in our group of friends who like this and we both LOVED it. When i share housed with him for a year we used to go through blocks of the stuff like it was going out of fashion)
turkish delight
rum and raisin
just plain dark 80%
Anything from Norman and Dann
I love violet crumbles and crunchies
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!
