Your story reminds me of my daughters wedding. I lwas thrilled to find a dress that hung nicely on me and I felt attractive in. By the wedding I had put on a little weight so it was slightly tight on the bust but I was happy to wear as it was. My best friend, a seamstress, insisted she would loosen it. When I got it back she had made extra adjustments "to improve it". It was shapeless, pulled in odd directions and looked ghastly. I felt liked a giant, shapeless plum pudding. I tahnk her profusely, laughed & tried to convince myself that having a friend who would do all that work was more important than how I looked.
