Nursery rhym's

Postby Chelle » Fri Aug 03, 2007 9:58 pm

I'm reading a book to my kids at night at the moment I'm reading a book that has nursery rhym's stories in it. This one is about The owl & the pussy cat. They set sea on a green-pea boat & the owl sing to the cat with a guitar as he looks at the moon.

"O lovely pussy! O Pussy, my love,
what a beautiful pussy, you are,
you are,
you are!
What a beautiful pussy you are!"

This is a children's book I think they could of worded it a bit better, because in adult's term's it means somthing else. It made me have a bit of a giggle to myself & thinking that it dosen't seem like it should be in a children's book.

What do you guy's think? is it juist me or is it a bit weird???

remember the famous 5 with Dick and Fanny?? LOL.

Back then, I don't think pussy had the same adult connotations. It is funny how these things happen though. I love the owl and the pussycat.
