Eating while on the computer :)

Postby A_Corner_Of_The_Earth » Wed Aug 08, 2007 1:47 pm

It's my lunch break and I'm browsing this wonderful forum while eating my lunch. A first I started eating my tuna salad without really tasting it - I was going through the motions while reading   .

I stopped myself as I want to consciously eat the food not just go through the motions. I've realised I have a habit of sitting in front of the computer while I'm eating (wether it's at work or home) and I don't register that I'm full and want to continue eating   .

Does anyone else go through this? I'm just curious haha :D :D

for sure jen! thats why i keep my bottle of water at hand. but i think when you are preoccupied with something you dont really comprehend what is going in your mouth.

for example, when i was working i would finish at 10pm and stop at the servo on the way home and pick up lollies, choccies, flavoured milk etc and by the time i got home 40 minutes later the food had gone! lol.

damn you love song dedications in the car on the way home!

it's easy just to graze through a whole lotta food when you're not thinking!

Night time is my worst time too. If I'm not keeping busy all I want to do is eat to keep boredom at bay. Now I have a cup of green tea which helps distract me from wanting to eat or I leave my apartment head out and do something just as long as it doesn't revolve around food lol.

The only time I see this is good for me is at work, if I eat my lunch at my desk it means I can get in 1 hour of walking at lunch :D

OMG I am doing this right now. Having my lunch while I'm on the comp :D

Don't feel bad a_corner_of_the_earth, it seems like a lot of us do it.

hahaha I spend way too much time on the comp. If I'm not at uni/work/out with friends you will find me on the comp.

I used to have a lolly jar but I got rid of that (after I finished the lollies lol)

But yeah I eat all the time while I'm on the computer :D

I make an effort never to eat a main meal at the computer. It's mostly because when I'm at uni, eating at computers is a big no no, and because at home, I'm too lazy to take my food upstairs, eat, and take my dirty dishes downstairs again.

I do eat infront of the tele though, but mostly because I'm lonely and I like to hear the sound of other people's voices when I eat. I think my food's more interesting than the television.
