A few things have been happenign lately so I havnt been on the pc very much. So I thought I would drop by and keep you updated with whats going on with me at the moment.

I am not going to stress about my weight for the time being. I will always have it at the back of my mind and I will eat healthy but its the least of my worries.

At the moment I am going to try and focus on not smoking because I have been diagnosed with level 1 cerivcal cancer. the dr's say dont worry about it because they caught it early but hey you cant help but wonder.

The other thing is my brother in law has only a few months to live with cancer so loosing weight isnt my prority at the moment.

I will still drop by regulary and post how I am going and my weigh loss but yeah I thought I would just let every one know where I have been
Mel :)

hey mel im really sorry to hear about your brother in law. that is really sad. i can understand that you arent going to be around here often and that your main focus at the moment is your family and your own health. are you able to explain what level one cervical cancer is? ive heard differing things about what each stage actually is. take care of yourself first and foremost, we are always going to be around here :) xox

Well he said dont be to worried because they got it early. the impression I got was it has stages and when you get to stage 4 thats when the cells are full canerious.

ah ok then so they caught the abnormal cells before they could turn into cancer? thats really lucky and its good to know so that people can be reminded to get their pap smears. will you have the cells burnt off?

level 1 means that the cells are showing some changes in the way they grow - and are the 1st stage of a 5 step progression to full blown cervical cancer.

Level 1 does not mean you have cervical cancer - just that the cells seen from the PAP are not 100% normal. Usually the Dr will repeat the smear in 6 months - 1 year (depends on your age and other factors) or refer for a colposcopy.

Many women have a level 1 LSIL (low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion) picked up on a pap smear, but no evidence in the repeat.

Hi Mel, totally understandable that you have other things to focus on just now. Take care of yourself and I hope we shall see you around and back on the weight loss track soon!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!
