Cadbury Carb Lite Chocolate

Postby Sassygirl » Wed Aug 15, 2007 10:50 pm

Has anyone else had this chocolate and if so did it give you terrible stomache aches that resulted in a very quick journey to the toilet?? I had some tonight and I have had "gas" so bad and had to constantly go to the toilet. Is there some sort of hidden laxative in it that I did not know about??

Ive had that chocolate too and it tastes terrible and gave me a really bad tummy ache.

Can you remember seeing on the pack a warning that "excess consumption may have a laxative effect"?? I cant remember if that was on there or I just imagined it...

Either way it made me feel so sick that I chucked it out. Yuck!

Nope don't think I even bothered to look on the packet for that warning - you don't expect it on a chocolate bar. Thanks anyway for your input!!

I think you find that things that have artificial sweeteners, etc have that warning. eg sugar free gum and sugar free lollies... things that are suppose to be better for you, but they often just fill them with other crap so they still taste good but dont have the cals. I guess we should learn to always read the label! Lol.

Was in the supermarket today so I checked the packaging of the Carb Lite Chocolate, it does have a warning saying that excess consumption may have laxative effect! Lol.

ive never seen the carb free cadbury one but when i lsot wieght the first time around i would eat the darrell lea one that is made with artificial sweetner- its a bar and the packaging is yellow. it was nice but gives you the runs if you eat too much of it. a whole bar would last me a week though

I only had the darrell lea once but I was being really good & only eating piece by piece everynow & then & took me 4 days to eat. So I didn't have any effect's but I supppose I didn't eat it all in one go.

Man I can confirm the laxative effect!!! Loud audible sounds coming from my stomach, then eventually some pain. It was horrible!! I couldn't sleep because I had to keep getting up and we had a 7am start. I swear never again to eat that stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ewwww....that sounds like one nasty chocolate!

one of my friends who is really into nutrition etc made a suggestion - i was drinking a bit of the jarrah chocolate drinks (or similar) and i was talking to her about it & she suggested that i'd be better having a real hot chocolate once a week as a treat (green & blacks do the most awesome organic hot chocolate powder!) rather than having the artificially sweetened version every day.

i'm beginning to think this is a really good suggestion because i'm not liking the sound of what the artificial sweeteners do to your body :(
