HELP! Bf's Bday!

Postby ali » Tue Sep 04, 2007 3:57 pm

Help! My bf's bday is on monday and I dont know what to get him!!

Ok... so jewellery is out of the question, for his last bday he got a necklace, ring, watch and cuff links! So no there...

He also got engraved photo frame, flying lesson (he loves to fly), wallet and clothes so it cant be those either...

Whats left?? Lol. He doesnt have any hobbies or play sport. He has a motorbike but i dont know what i could get him for that and it would probably be too expensive.

Im stuck!!!!!!! Aagh! Need to get it by saturday!

Im making him cake too! :D But I need a pressie!

Any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated!

A gift vouger for a hardware shop, but that's a little non intimate really. Umm, boys are heard, especially when their hobby consists of expensive cars/motorcyles and they usually just buy whatever they need anyway.

maybe don't buy him anything and take him away someplace?

I wish I had the time/money to take him away but unfortunately that is out of the question...

He's not really into hardware either. What do you get a 22yo that still lives at home and that spends most of his time at uni and playing WOW on the comp... grr. Why is this so hard!

I thought about not getting him anything but I just feel so bad. I want to show him how much he means to me but im not sure how. I couldnt even find a sentimental card for a guy... Grr.

Ooh good ideas, I'll have to write some of these down. Im going shopping on sat with mum in chatswood chase, yay! But for him, not me... Lol. I'll have to keep reminding myself of that!

He doesnt really follow any sport so thats a no...

Pot plant is out of the question too, his mum would go crazy! Too much mess in the house, lol. She's a clean freak, its soooo annoying! Lol.

He does like books, but im not sure what to get.. I might just have a wonder and look around.

Id love to do the hot air ballon ride! But its for him, not me, lol.

I was thinking harbour bridge walk but thats expensive too...

I'll keep thinking about it...

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! :D

I just had an idea!

I was thinking of booking him into a race track where you take your own bike and get to go around the track as fast as you want. He's always wanted to do that. Its $160 though... I'll have to ask mum...

But I can come too and watch him and have lunch there (there's a bbq thing where you can get lunch) and its an all day thing, like from 9-5 so it would be pretty exciting! And there are professional photographers there taking photos that you can buy. How cool!

What do you guys think? I think its a good idea! :D

You can buy gift vouchers at motorcycle stores and then he can use it towards buying whatever he wants!

Yeah that was my only hesitation - I would be so worried! Id be sitting there all day biting my nails while he was riding. And I think he would care if he crashed his bike! Its not insured either!

Hmm, I dont know what to do! Im sure he would love it but its a lot of money if he doesnt...

But he has said before that he would like to do it so I guess.. I cant really think of anything else anyway...

I did have a look at going for a flight in a fighter jet (he wanted to join the air force at one stage) but the price was $2,650 and the cheaper one was $1,550   On second thoughts, maybe not! Thats crazy!!!!!

I'll talk to mum and see what she thinks (she is paying after all, lol)

Thanks for all the help guys!!!! :D :D

That sounds like an awesome idea. Are you talking about the one at Eastern Creek? One of my close friends recently did that and he loved it. His brother filmed the whole thing too - maybe you could be the camera woman???

I think that is a perfect idea!

Its at Oran Park...? West sydney somewhere, which is close enough to us!

Yeah thats a good idea! I'll be taking plenty of happy snaps! Hehe.

Im buying it online so I wont have anything to give him, so Im making up my own "flier" with all the info about what he will be getting treated to! Ive even got a pic of his bike to put on it

Ok this might sound silly but why don't you do a little scrap book for him and theme it around motorcycles (ie coffee table book). Also have a special photo of both of you together. That way he will have a special little memento of his 22nd bday and of you.

Also take him out to dinner and had the restaurant the cake you bake for him and when its time for desert get them to bring it out with candles and sing happy birthday.

This won't cost you as much as the bike ride and will be special too and you won't have to worry about him injuring himself or his bike :D
