So i found out earlier today that Chris Mainwaring had died last night. Its very sad news for the west aus communtity and the west coast eagles, im sure, i did enjoy his news broadcasts and i really hope that the west australian and the sunday times can contain themselves over this news.

I still cannot believe it. His name may not mean anything to most on this forum, but to us West Aussies he was one of the greatest WCE football players we had as well as being on our television (weekend sport presenter) and on our radios (used to be with Mix 94.5) - he will be truly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and two small children.

RIP Chris :(

Hay Perthites - did you manage to watch the telecast of his funeral yesterday? I have to admit that as far as funerals go - it was a really moving event. I had tears in my eyes when I saw little Zac crying (Chris's son). I thought it was a lovely tribute to his dad that he wore a Number 3 Eagles jumper. And I think that Bluey Mckenna spoke from his heart and it showed as he struggled through his speech.
