I think its a pretty sensible idea! Heaps of people do it nowdays a friend of mine did it a while ago and met a great guy.

I think it saves a lot of hussle too as you can find someone that likes the same types of things too.

Good on you i say, no point moping around complaining if your not going to do something about it, good luck, i hope you meet the girl of your dreams!

good on you!! I think its fantastic.

Only 1 piece of advice, be honest! Always be honest!!

I met my hubby on the internet (not through a dating site though) and we promised from day 1 to always be honest with each other about everything.

Definitely agree with that . . Lies get you nowhere and they are found out in the end anyway . .

No need to tell lies anyway, people have to take you the way you are . .

"oh, yeah, my internet pic.......well, um, I felt I was far too good looking so I had plastic surgery to make me more normal looking"

LOL. different strokes for different folks, horses for courses yadda yadda.

Me I wouldn't do it, but a family friend met his now wife on the internet from America so it definitely opens up the world, rather than being restricted to your local town pub!

It's worth trying - it may be a long shot and not work out to anything, but you never never know if you never never go.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).

It is not the wrong thing to do at all Shaun as long as you are comfortable with your decision, then go for it. The worse thing that could happen?? You end up meeting up with someone and decide that she is not right for you.....The best thing?? The lady for you could be just a click away!!

I wish you all the best!!

I think it's fabulous and I think more and more couples will hook up this way in the future. The days of finding Mr or Mrs Right in some dark, smokey (well, not smokey anymore heh heh) are well and truly over. Go for it! :D

i don't see anything wrong with it at all. the way we communicate with each other has changed in a massive way - especially in the last 10-15 years. it's pretty normal now for people to communicate through online/electronic means and so dating websites are just part of that.

good luck :)

There is nothing wrong at all with meeting someone online. Like the others have said its the modern way to meet people now.

Are you worried that it might appear desperate - nah dude don't think that at all. It's better than going out and having drunken conversations at clubs and pubs. At least this way you and potential date/partner are after the same thing

Definitely go for it Shaun :D

Let us know how it goes. Psst I'm nosy and wanna know the goss too :P
