So I'm 25 years old, 175cm (5'10") and currently weigh 82.6kg. I hadn't weighed myself for quite a while and needless to say I was STUNNED. I come from a family of tall thin women on my mother's side but on my dad's side, the women are prone to carrying weight. I've always considered myself lucky that I could "carry weight well"... but now I think that's just as excuse. The weight has been creeping on since I moved away to university at 17 and I've gone from 70kg to my current 82.6kg.
So starting today, I am putting in an effort to lose the weight. I'm a doctor and I regularly advise my patients on the importance of being a healthy weight, eating healthy food and exercising. Somehow I got so busy with my studies and my work that I neglected my own message.
Well now it's my time! My husband and I are thinking of starting a family in the next 6-12 months and I don't want to start out heavier than need be.
I will be calorie counting and keeping track of my exercise with a diary. I aim to lose 1.5kg a fortnight.
